As part of our coverage of CEDIA Expo 2021, Tim Albright talks with Hunter Douglas. The custom window treatment manufacturer offers a simpler solution for customers to buy the right shades for them.
Hunter Douglas announced the release of a brand new mobile app designed to compare and quote the right shades for their home. The app will also integrate a laser measuring device, allowing the app to pull that information to get a more accurate measurement.
Director of Product Management, Motorization Scott Stephenson says this app help dealer and customers streamline the comparing and quoting options. “It allows them to do some really nice things… they can do a really quick price comparison… and then they can take it a step further and generate the full quote,” Stephenson said.
Along with the new app, Hunter Douglas will now offer a program designed for guaranteed installation and measurements called the Hunter Douglas Installation Services (HDIS).
“Essentially, what that allows our dealers to do is to contract the measurements and installation of the shades through us [Hunter Douglas] and we guarantee both the measurement and installation,” Stephenson said. If any of the measurements are wrong, Hunter Douglas will offer a replacement and other services on their dime.
