InfoComm Asia: Philips displays and AV/IT software firm Userful announce strategic partnership

PPDS is the provider of Philips professional display, covering professional TVs, signage, and direct view LED solutions, worldwide under a trademark license by Koninklijke Philips N.V.

PPDS, the provider of Philips professional displays, has announced a strategic partnership with Userful, certifying selected Philips digital signage and dvLED solutions for use on the Infinity Platform for mission-critical environments.

PPDS and Userful have collaborated to create the Infinity Platform, a comprehensive digital signage solution for enterprise AV/IT teams. It provides flexible management and advanced situational awareness of all AV applications on a single screen.

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips professional displays, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership, being launched in its Asia Pacific region at InfoComm Asia, with leading AV service platform provider, Userful. The partnership sees selected Philips digital signage and dvLED solutions becoming officially certified for use on the award-winning Userful Infinity Platform for mission-critical environments.

Announced and demonstrated on the Philips booth (F01) at InfoComm Asia 2023, this important collaboration with Userful – a multi-national software provider – further extends PPDS’ commitment to delivering ‘total solutions’ to its customers, in Asia Pacific and around the globe. The Infinity Platform provides enterprise AV/IT teams with a comprehensive, fully integrated, and highly secure digital signage solution, delivering flexible management and advanced situational awareness of all AV applications on a single screen.

Designed exclusively for mission-critical environments, and with more than 1,000-plus companies from over 100 countries using the platform – including Deloitte, NASA, Ford, and Hilton – the partnership runs deep into the technology, with Userful’s ‘uClient’ application sitting directly in PPDS’ range of Philips professional displays with Android SoC. This eliminates the need for additional hardware or cabling while ensuring seamless integration and end-to-end interoperability of displays (and other solutions) running on the Infinity digital ecosystem.

AV/ IT enterprise customers/administrators will also benefit from Userful’s Signage Plus license, receiving a scalable and cost-effective content delivery network (CDN) to distribute media content efficiently on multiple and single displays.

Julian Lim, Sales Director SEA at PPDS, commented: “We are delighted to have partnered with Userful to bring even more value and choice to our growing range of customers here in Asia Pacific. Today, there is an increasing synergy between AV products in IT environments, and the Infinity Platform is an ideal solution to bring those worlds together in a simple and efficient way. Enabling our Philips professional displays with Userful’s Infinity Platform provides IT departments and AV departments with a hybrid solution for their needs, whether they want to deploy on-premise, in data centers, or from the Cloud. Userful’s Infinity Platform provides unparalleled flexibility for Philips visual endpoints.”

Robert Huijsmans, COO at Userful added: “We are excited to partner with PPDS, certifying Philips professional displays to offer customers even more powerful, versatile, and flexible deployments of AV solutions. The integration of our Infinity Platform with these Philips displays provides customers with unparalleled flexibility and control over their AV solutions, whether these are digital signage applications, data dashboards, huddle rooms, conference spaces, or control rooms.
