AVWeek 629: The Family is Growing

It’s Totally A Thing

While Tim is out exploring both CEDIA Expo 2023 and the new Commercial Integrator Expo, news never stops. Which is why we’ve brought Brian Heidgerken back to look at the latest stories surrounding the commercial side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Senior Manager of Collaboration & Productivity for Grainger Nyere Hollingsworth, Building Technology Designer for HGA Kelly Teel and AV industry Business Development Guru Nancy Blanchard.

Biamp is acquiring Evoko. Evoko is a manufacturer of scheduling systems and is another step for Biamp’s focus on integrated solution. Does that mean Biamp is looking to become the next “all-in-one” company? Looking at the merits and potential pitfalls of trying to be the one-stop shop.

It’s apropos that we had CEDIA Expo and Commercial Integrator co-habituating a space, since our next topic is all about the resimercial space. Written by one Tim Albright, it looks at the intersection of commercial and residential and what it means for integrators dabbling in both aspects. Is there enough overlap in both markets for companies to make notice, or is it a case of “the twain shall never meet?”
