Table Full of Remotes
As a St. Louis based organization, we are going to calmly ignore any recent major sporting event and instead focus on the latest news coming out of the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Owner of Southtown AV Heater Sidorowicz and Senior Managing Editor at Connected Design Vanessa Zitzmann.
CEDIA has formed a partnership with kitchen and bath manufacturer Kohler. And while we do discuss what it means for AV to get into the bathroom space more we also have to bring up the fact that both the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders’ Show (IBS) ran this week and our guests got to attend. So we take Kohler as a jumping off point to discuss the shows and the innovation being made in spaces like the bathroom and kitchen for AV.
Savant has had their latest software update, title da Vinci 10 that will help integrators develop subscription based business models via Savant Essentials. This may be the first major platform to undertake a subscription based model like this in the CI channel. Are we ready for automation system as a service? Are the customers willing to utilize these services? How would you be able to pitch this to a client? Looking at RMR services and what this means for the residential space.
CE Pro is continuing their Top 5 Tech Trends for 2022, this time looking at virtual reality. VR and augmented reality (AR) have quickly soared into the consumer market, and now we just have to find a way for it to work in the residential space. So the easy question to be asked is- does it have a space?
