Even though it’s Victoria day (at least on the day of recording) Canadian and host Matt Scott still takes the time out of his precious holiday to bring you the latest news coming out of the residential side of the AV industry. Joining him in his endeavor is Jamie Breisemeister, CEO, Co-Founder and “Boss Lady” for Integration Controls, and VIP of Connected Products for SnapAV Kenny Kim.

SnapAV’s remote management and monitoring platform OvrC (cleverly pronounced “Oversee”) gets enhanced to the fullest, adding hundreds of changes, an optimized performance, a new mobile app, support for connected SnapAV products like Packedge and more. It is a wealth of upgrades for the platform, to be especially effective for integrators and dealers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking at the current landscape and how that has changed the overall view towards remote management platforms like this in our industry.

Speaking of COVID-19, as much as we might not want to constantly discuss it, friend of the site (and recent interviewee of our Integrator Interview feature) Heather Sidorowicz writes for Residential Tech Today about the increase of employees working from home and what this means for custrom integrators. It’s no surprise that people are working from home due to the pandemic. As the workplace evolves, looking at what integrators can do to get involved in this emerging space.

Finally, CEDIA has published a report of the impact that COVID-19 has had on businesses in the residential space. Can we utilize this information to move forward with our businesses? We have the “fun” conversation of what this means for the latter half of the year as businesses try and struggle to get back to a sense of normalcy.
