    At InfoComm 2018 George Tucker chatted with Shaun Robinson of Harman. There is an extensive 1GB network infrastructure and Harman offers an array of AV over IP solutions generating 4K 60 4:4:4 video. Where IP video is not possible or necessary they now offer a full line of HDBaseT products. The company is focusing on making products IT manager ready with tools such as the BSS-DCP 55 conferencing platform.

  • Da-lite Less Ambient, Brighter at Infocomm 2018

      Ambient Light Rejection, Ready Made Screens

    At InfoComm 2018 Matt Scott talked with Melissa Rone of Da-lite about Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) technology screens. Da-lite offers a number of screen solutions including the Parallax 2.3 which touts light rejection and higher gain. The company now offers a limited line of ready-made screens with a variety of options for when a custom screen is not needed or time is a deciding factor. Melissa also details a showing of soon to market built in analytics capture.

  • Biamp Keeps on Tracking at Infocomm 2018

    Tracking Microphones and Bluetooh added to Tesira Line

    At InfoComm 2018 Steve Greenblatt talked with Zack Snook about additions to the Tesira line of audio-video Servers and digital processing products. The TCM-1 tracking microphones can be added in moments connecting to PoE+ powered amplifiers and on the fly height adjustments. In addition, the units can incorporate Bluetooth and USB sources into the system, making the ever-expanding platform a complete solution.

Barco’s system has the ability to provide high resolution large image presentations fit for large scale shows or smaller PRO AV installs. The chassies use the same cards and can be mix and matched as need to fit the job or event.

  • Utelogy Opens Up at Infocomm 2018

    Open Source Control and Management Platform

    At InfoComm 2018 Steve Greenblatt talked with Scott McGarrigle of Utelogy, the software-based platform for control, management, and analytics using standards-based protocols. Utelogy has added U-Schedule to manage rooms and assets will any of its partner company products. The systems require only simple configuration for basic functionality ‘out-of-the-box’ but more advanced features and looks can be added with open source programming tools.

  • Barco ClickShare at Infocomm 2018

    ClickShare Collaboration and Control

    At InfoComm 2018 Matt Scott talked with Johan Devos of Barco about updates and additions to ClickShare. Barco has added control features and interoperability to its reliable collaboration suite. It is not always optimal to present from the computer, so Barco has added Touchback allowing touchscreen control of slides. A remote USB button panel provides front panel control when the unit is inaccessible. Barco has also added a cloud configuration and management tool as well as interoperability with Zoom conferencing software.

Kanex Pro has added to its existing hardware line up improved video over IP encoder/decoder units. While the technology is solid, Kash emphasizes the need for education and products that make the process more straightforward for integrators just entering IP technologies.

  • Christie Calibration and Creation at Infocomm 2018

    Active Calibration and Content Creation Tools

    At InfoComm 2018 George Tucker Talked with Arlo Seymour of Christie about the new creation and calibration tools. Christie showed off their constant calibration software, called Guardian, which provides not only recovery alignment but also constant image correction. The Mystique 3D camera capture system allows users to quickly map an object and have it ready for use in a media server. Pandora’s box, purchased by Christie in 2015, has an added quick content creation tool. When time is of the essence the AI-based software can take template graphics and apply them to projection maps.

  • AtlasIED Z Series at Infocomm 2018

    Single Wall Mount for your Commercial Audio needs

    At InfoComm 2018 Matt Scott talked with John Ivey of AtlasIED about building off of their long history of speech privacy and audio systems to create the wall mounted Z Series System. The Z Series provides privacy masking, background music paging and Bluetooth streaming all from one wall mounted panel. The two zone (Z2) and four zone (Z4) systems include contact closures, wireless 900MHz ‘Button’ and smartphone control app.

    Ultra Short Throw Lens Expand Image Potential

    At InfoComm 2018 Matt Scott talked with Vincent Ayala of Barco about Ultra Short Throw (UST) TLD Lens and how they can expand image potential. The large Venue projectors like the UDX Laser phosphor line can be oriented in a variety of ways. It is not always optimal to have the projector on screen center. The TLD + lens line provides up to 150% lens shift, allowing better truss balancing and moving projectors out of sight
