Luxul Transforms AV-over-IP Deployment with Launch of New SW Series Managed Switch Templates

Luxul has introduced new SW Series Managed PoE+ Switch Templates that make AV-over-IP deployments faster and easier. Available through a free firmware update (v1.00.429), these templates automate the complex setup process for network switches, removing the need for expert configuration. Installers can simply choose from pre-set templates such as Vaddio w/ Dante, Sonos, or Video AVoIP to instantly optimize network performance and reduce setup time.

The SW Series Managed PoE+ switches, ranging from 8 to 48 ports, are designed to handle the heavy data demands of AV-over-IP systems while offering flexibility and reliability. With full PoE+ on every port, flexible installation options, and a three-year warranty with lifetime support, Luxul’s update ensures easier, error-free deployments and greater freedom for integrators working across diverse AV technologies.

Luxul, a brand of Legrand | AV, today announced the launch of its new SW Series Managed PoE+ Switch Templates. This powerful, free feature is delivered via a simple firmware update (1.00.429) and is immediately available for all eight of the company’s refreshed SW-505, SW-515, and SW-615 Series Managed PoE+ Switches, fundamentally simplifying the setup process for customers and guaranteeing optimized performance in complex AV-over-IP (AVoIP) environments.

The new templates eliminate the manual, time-consuming configuration historically required for managed switches, effectively removing the need for a customer to be a “switch expert.” Instead, they can select a pre-configured template, such as Vaddio w/ Dante, Sonos, Video AVoIP, or Audio Dante, to instantly optimize the switch for that specific application. This streamlined process dramatically reduces installation time and minimizes
    the potential for human error.

“Simplifying complex technology to make our customers’ jobs easier is a core commitment across all Legrand brands,” said Kirk Goodwin, Senior Product Manager for Luxul. “The Luxul Switch Templates empower installers to deploy high-performance, complex AVoIP systems quickly and reliably, regardless of their networking background. This feature saves significant time and cost on every project, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional AV experiences for their users.”

The compatible line of Luxul SW Series Managed PoE+ switches includes models ranging from 8 to 48 PoE+ ports, offering both front- and rear-port orientations to suit any installation. The SW Series switches are engineered from the ground up to meet the high-bandwidth, low-latency demands of AVoIP applications. The introduction of the templates further enhances this capability, ensuring smooth, error-free deployments. Unlike solutions that lock dealers into proprietary ecosystems or require mandatory VLAN settings, Luxul’s approach provides maximum flexibility, allowing integrators to mix and match various AVoIP technologies with confidence.

The entire line features full PoE+ capability on all ports, ensuring every device receives the power it needs regardless of where it is plugged in. Furthermore, the switches include a three-year warranty and free lifetime support, standard on all Luxul products.

    Delightful Screen Experiences
Da-Lite continues to innovate the viewing experience with Myriad Conceal and Myriad Reveal. The Da-Lite Myriad Conceal ceiling-recessed screen, designed with ceiling trim in place to conceal the rough opening, eliminates the need to complete additional trim work once the screen is installed. The crowd-favorite two-stage installation option affords the screen case to be installed during the rough-in construction stage and the screen surface assembly during the finishing stage. The Myriad Reveal wall- and ceiling-mounted screen features versatile and adjustable brackets that accommodate either mounting preference. Installation is made easy with the built-in case leveling [±.5″ (12.7 mm) vertically, and centering [±6″ (152.4 mm) horizontally. An innovative weighted bar doubles as a black closure door (on SightLine models), which blends in with the border when the screen is fully deployed, and the bar smoothly rotates to white to blend into the sleek waterfall case aesthetic when retracted.

Available on all Myriad models, Da-Lite’s SightLine thin cable drop feature elegantly suspends the screen surface, eliminating black drop as well as the extra step of measuring and specifying drop distance before ordering. SightLine allows for vertical placement of the screen with a drop distance up to 16 ft (5 m) standard between the ceiling and the top of the screen.

Da-Lite will also show its re-engineered Parallax Thin screen, which offers a convenient alternative to rigid screens that ship assembled in large crates. Parallax Thin is now available in wider sizes but with a smaller shipping footprint, enhancing logistics and cost efficiency. Specifically designed for ultrashort throw projectors, this 1/2-in-thin bezel fixed frame screen features the new Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) screen surface – Parallax® Pure UST 0.6. Available in 16:9 HDTV and 21:9 Ultrawide formats, it complements Da-Lite’s extensive 21:9 offering, which is ideal for larger spaces with Microsoft Teams Front Row setups or collaboration spaces where ambient light control is essential.

    Trusted Connectivity
The C2G Superbooster 4-Port USB over Cat6a Extender Kit (USB 3.2 Gen 1, 5Gbps) extends data from USB 3.2, 2.0, and 1.1 devices simultaneously up to 328 ft (100 m) over a single Cat6a F/FTP cable. Designed for USB 3.2 conferencing cameras, interactive whiteboards, security systems, remote storage, and more, it simplifies connectivity in AV and IT installations. With no software drivers required, the kit ensures fast, plug-and-play setup: connect the Transmitter to the source, extend with a single cable, and link the receiver to up to four USB devices. Tested with industry-leading devices, this reliable solution provides AV integrators with confidence and efficiency.

Installers can deliver the magic of AV while eliminating any stress of maintenance and management. We’re also looking forward to bringing dealers up to speed on our latest WiFi 6 developments, which will bring faster connections, lower latency, and enhanced security to home networks.”

    Building the Ultimate AV Network
At CEDIA Expo 2023, Luxul will present its refreshed line of managed PoE+ AV gigabit switches, which feature an updated UI that simplifies setup and offers improved support for AVoIP installations. All eight models feature powerful PoE+ budgets ranging from 130W to 740W and come in a variety of port counts from eight all the way up to 48 PoE+ ports with rear and front port orientation options. They’re ideal for supporting reliable, 24/7 display operation in conference rooms, small offices, or other AVoIP applications. The new Luxul managed PoE+ gigabit switches set the foundation for reliable networking products coming in the future and will begin shipping in Q4 2023.

A three-year warranty and lifetime support are included with every switch, and dealers can also take advantage of Luxul’s free network design service called the Customer Assurance Program (CAP). CAP provides dealers with certified wired and wireless network designs for their commercial and residential projects — complete with tech support — that are guaranteed to meet their customers’ reliability and performance requirements relating to WiFi.

Legrand Donates Vantage, QMotion, and Luxul Brand Solutions for R.I.S.E. Home Built by Wounded Warrior Project and Gary Sinise Foundation

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Legrand announced that donated solutions from its Vantage, QMotion, and Luxul brands were utilized in a customized smart home for Marine Sgt. Jonathan Blank, who was severely injured in Afghanistan. Provided by the Wounded Warrior Project® and Gary Sinise Foundation as part of the Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment (R.I.S.E.) program, the home and its technologies are designed to make Sgt. Blank’s life more comfortable and convenient.

“We are grateful for Legrand’s support, which has been a tremendous gift for Sgt. Blank,” said Blaine Christensen, Co-owner of Advanced Integrated Systems. “The company’s solutions have been instrumental in providing this American hero with a high-tech home that will forever change the trajectory of his life.”

Precise control over the home’s lighting is delivered by Vantage’s InFusion™ Controller II, while automated shading is provided by QMotion QIS ZigBee hardwired shades. Sgt. Blank interacts with his lighting and shading systems via a Vantage Equinox 41 touchscreen at the back door and EasyTouch II backlit modular keypads located throughout the home.

The home’s network is centered on Luxul’s dual-WAN Epic 5 wired router (ABR-5000), while the AMS-4424P 26-port/24 PoE+ stackable Layer 2/Layer 3 managed switch handles AV-over-IP video distribution and delivers power and network connectivity to in-wall keypads and other devices. Two XAP-1510 wireless access points (APs) provide WiFi connectivity.

“It’s an honor to work with the Wounded Warrior Project and Gary Sinise Foundation in their mission to help injured veterans,” said Charlie Derk, Director of Product Marketing, Shading and Residential controls, Legrand, North and Central America. “Sgt. Blank has sacrificed so much for his country, and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to make his life easier and more comfortable through our lighting, shading, and networking technologies.”
