AVNation at InfoComm 2024: SurgeX Unveils New Vertical Series

Tim Albright from AVNation sits down with Jeff Mackey from SurgeX at InfoComm 2024. In the interview, Jeff discussed the critical importance of power protection, power management, and power conditioning in both IT closets and AV systems. With microprocessors present in nearly all modern devices—from refrigerators to espresso machines—maintaining power quality is more crucial than ever.

SurgeX, a leader in the field, introduced their new Vertical Series at ISC and has now begun shipping these innovative products. The Vertical Series offers three different sizes—8 Outlet, 16 Outlet, and 24 Outlet versions—all featuring advanced power analytics, remote management, and monitoring capabilities. Each outlet is individually cyclable, allowing for precise control and scheduling without the need for an expensive sequencer.

The ability to manage inrush current through sequencing ensures a balanced power load, preventing circuit overloads. Additionally, SurgeX provides an open API for seamless integration with existing management systems, and modules for major manufacturers like Crestron, Extron, and AMX are readily available.
