HARMAN Professional Solutions has launched the Crown ComTech D Series, a smart and compact line of power sharing amplifiers built to meet the evolving needs of installed audio setups. These amplifiers come in 2-, 4-, and 8-channel models with built-in DSP, Dante integration, Lo-Z/Hi-Z switching, and a web-based configuration interface, making them easy to set up and manage without complex tools. The power sharing feature allows flexible distribution of total amplifier power across outputs, adapting effortlessly to different speaker requirements.
Designed for corporate spaces, restaurants, hotels, and multi-zone installations, the ComTech D Series delivers versatility, reliability, and seamless control integration. With native support for BSS and AMX systems, plus an open API for third-party control, these amps offer IT and AV teams a unified platform to build and manage scalable audio systems, all in a compact 1RU design.
HARMAN Professional Solutions, the global leader in audio, video, control, and lighting systems, today announced the Crown ComTech D Series, a new line of power sharing amplifiers designed to meet the changing demands of diverse, installed audio applications. With Dante inputs and outputs, built-in DSP, Lo-Z/Hi-Z switching, and a simple to use web configuration interface, the ComTech D Series sets the benchmark for intelligent performance in compact, installation-friendly designs.
Available in 2-, 4-, and 8-channel configurations, each model can deliver 125W per channel of legendary Crown amplification when all channels are driven equally. Power sharing enables individual output channels to scale up or down in power, distributing the total output power of the amplifier to meet the needs of the attached speakers for unparalleled flexibility.
Built-in DSP allows outputs to be tuned specifically for every application and provides the ability to create custom speaker tunings. Factory JBL SpeakerTunings for select JBL models, including Control 400 Series ceiling speakers, are included to simplify the optimization of an all-HARMAN solution.
ComTech D amplifiers include a suite of monitoring tools including a source priority mixer, input pilot tone monitoring, and output load monitoring to help maintain line integrity. The GPO provides a dedicated contact closure to monitor these tools as well as amplifier health and power status.
Configuration is seamless using the intuitive web interface with any computer or tablet and without the need to install proprietary software. HARMAN’s AVX Manager enables even large installations to be managed and monitored from a single interface. Additionally, ComTech D models use HARMAN’s HControl protocol to communicate natively with BSS OMNI Processors or AMX MUSE Automation Controllers and include an easy-to-use API for integration with 3rd-party control systems.
Additionally, multiple GPI ports are included to provide volume control, mute functions, source selection, and more with accessory user interfaces such as the BSS Contrio AC-V or AC-5S controller. The 2- and 4-channel models are compact 1RU, ½ rack width devices with flexible mounting options, while the 8-channel model requires only 1RU of space.

- FLEXIBLE POWER SHARING – Power sharing enables individual output channels to scale up or down in power, distributing the total output power of the amplifier to meet the needs of the attached loudspeakers. Outputs on the 2-channel model share 250W and 500W is shared between each set of 4 channels on the 4- and 8-channel models, for unparalleled flexibility. 4/8-ohm and 70/100V outputs are supported in any configuration.

- DANTE SPOKEN HERE – ComTech D Series amplifiers support redundant Dante configurations and feature multiple Dante inputs and outputs. The Dante output signals can be chosen directly from a pre-processed analog input, a pre-speaker tuned signal, or a post-speaker tuned signal.
- SIMPLE CONFIGURATION & MANAGMENT – The WebUI control interface enables easy setup without additional software. Accessible via any web browser, it delivers an intuitive configuration experience. AVX Manager enables even large installations to be managed and monitored from a single interface.
- COMPACT DESIGN – 2- and 4-channel models are housed in a 1RU, ½ rack width chassis and can be mounted in a rack, under a table, or on a wall using the included mounting hardware. The 8-channel model features a 1RU chassis with fixed rack mounts.
