Theory Launches AutomatorIP™ Update to its System Configuration Software – Simplifying Deployment and Optimizing Surround Sound System Performance.

Theory Audio Design has released an updated version of its Automator software, now called AutomatorIP, which simplifies the setup and optimization of surround sound systems. Compatible with the DLC-250.8 loudspeaker controller, AutomatorIP enables quick deployment of surround sound systems with up to 7.1 or 5.1.2 configurations, even with third-party loudspeakers. The software offers an intuitive, five-step setup process that makes configuring complex systems like Atmos effortless, with no need for microphones or cables.

This update enhances the performance and ease of using Theory’s premium surround sound solutions. With features like optimized bass management, intelligent power control, and fast setup times, AutomatorIP provides a major edge for installers and IT professionals looking to streamline system deployment and improve audio performance.

Premium audio brand, Theory Audio Design, announces a new version of its popular Automator software. AutomatorIP provides the ability to deploy Theory and third-party loudspeaker surround sound systems (up to 7.1 or 5.1.2) on its 8-channel DLC-250.8 loudspeaker controller platform.

At the nucleus of every Theory surround sound system is a loudspeaker controller. You can think of it as the AV version of an integrator’s Swiss army knife, combining the functionality of five products in one: a multi-channel DSP processor, high power multichannel home theater and distributed audio amplifier, multichannel mixing amplifier, multichannel bass manager, and high-resolution loudspeaker processor, all in a stylish and discreet package.

DLC-250.8 offers 8 channels of intelligent power, full DSP matrix, TCP/IP control through a wired connection, or directly via its on-board Wi-Fi access point. With channel-pair power sharing of up to 250W, each DLC-250.8 packs a lot of power into a 1U chassis. Theory also employs proprietary DSP techniques to process the signal for its loudspeakers and subwoofers with a very high degree of precision. And, with the addition of Automator IP, the DLC-250.8 is even better, and more unique, than ever.

Automator IP runs on a connected PC and the intuitive interface walks installers through a simple five-step system configuration. Now, with a single DLC-250.8, up to a 7.1 or 5.1.2 Theory or third-party surround system can be configured from start to finish in just 15 minutes. AutomatorIP key features include:

  • Setup surround system in minutes
  • Optimized Bass Management.
  • Intelligent power management
  • Supports third party speakers.
  • No microphones or cables are required.

“When we initially introduced Automator for Theory’s ALC-1809 loudspeaker controller, it became a customer favorite for its ability to deploy and configure spectacular sounding surround sound systems with minimal effort,” said Paul Hales, Theory CEO. “Given its success, there was no question we would port the Automator software over to the DLC platform. AutomatorIP now gives DLC customers a major advantage over the competition. Whether deploying a surround system with Theory or using third-party loudspeakers, AutomatorIP makes configurations of even complex Atmos systems painless and simple, every single time.”
