Chyron has introduced PRIME 5.3, the latest update to its live production graphics engine, bringing native HTML integration directly into PRIME CG. With the new HTML Input feature, users can embed live web content into graphics scenes simply by adding a URL, making it easier to display dynamic websites as backgrounds or overlays during live productions. Operators can also refresh web content directly from the control panel, improving flexibility for fast-changing data and live broadcasts.
The update also strengthens cloud and automation capabilities. PRIME 5.3 enhances integration with Chyron LIVE by enabling customizable master control panels within browser-based production environments. For news broadcasters, the new Playout Automation mode dedicates full system performance to automated graphics playout, simplifying operations in fully automated control rooms. Additional interface improvements further streamline panel management and live graphics control.
Chyron today unveiled PRIME 5.3, the latest software release of the company’s powerful engine for live production graphics. PRIME 5.3 delivers the first official integration of HTML content within PRIME, through a powerful and flexible HTML Input. Additionally, PRIME 5.3 delivers highly-requested features across the spectrum of Chyron clientele. Chyron LIVE users can now enjoy all encompassing master control panel capability within on-demand cloud production environments, while news broadcasters can utilize the Playout Automation mode to dedicate all PRIME Engine performance to set-and-forget automated playout.
Representing the first official incorporation of HTML content within PRIME CG, version 5.3’s HTML Input enables designers to incorporate live web content within a PRIME scene. Upon inserting the HTML Input object within a scene, users can enter a simple web url address to populate the desired web content within a PRIME scene and customize the scene element to their needs. When working with web content that requires a refresh of data or content, playout operators can easily trigger a refresh of the HTML input directly from the scene control panel.
“PRIME 5.3’s HTML Input makes it easier than ever to integrate live websites.” Said Chris Amodei, PRIME product manager at Chyron “With direct access to live web content-designers can easily access what they need with a simple URL address and build it directly into a PRIME scene, whether as a background source or overlay. This is a significant benefit for all content creators.”
PRIME 5.3 also unlocks support for powerful master control panels within Chyron LIVE, a cloud-native production platform that provides an on-demand production control room entirely within a web browser, that unifies live switching, commentary & audio mixing, PRIME Clips and CG playout, as well as replay & telestration.
Providing total freedom in customization, PRIME’s master control panels enable users to build tailored interfaces for their graphics packages that completely simplify live playout. With these custom panels, any operator can make the most of PRIME CG’s powerful broadcaster-quality graphics within their on-demand Chyron LIVE production environment.
Additionally, PRIME 5.3’s new Playout Automation mode is built for news broadcasters who want a set-and-forget graphics system for shows that run entirely on automated production control systems. PRIME CG has long supported control automation through Chyron Intelligent Interface and many other control protocols. The difference now with Playout Automation Mode is that PRIME users can opt to strip back all elements within the operator user interface, to dedicate all performance to automated playout.
To round out the new features, PRIME 5.3 delivers handy enhancements to management and creation of both scene and master control panels. With the Panel Control Object, multiple replaceable fields can be bound into a single group for easy toggling during live playout. When building panels, designers can define how multiple objects are placed, left to right, top to bottom, or overlapping, with the added ability in this release to switch the layout behavior directly in the Control Panel and Master Control Panel user interface.
