Learn From Home Conference

LFH while you work from home

WFH. Work from home. This hashtag has become synonymous with our current COVID-19 crisis. More than three-fourths of the US is under some form of “shelter in place”. Basically this means you are not going to work.

Techs and certain field engineers have been deemed essential by the federal government. However, there are a number of those that are being furloughed, laid off, or fired. They are also homeward bound. What is an entire industry to do that is social and connected in an era of social distancing?

We might have a solution. AVNation is working with a number of great organizations to produce not one, but two virtual business conferences. We’re calling it LFH (Learn from Home).

Those in the residential field, we’ll have a two-day event April 7 and 8 kicked off with a keynote by Jeremy Burkhart. Following Burkhardt’s morning keynote there will be a number of one-hour education sessions. We’ll give you time to go get some work done and check on the kids. CEDIA is coming along with loads of courses from their collection of courses.

Then at noon, Charlie Kindel from SnapAV/Control4 will talk on the Smart Home. Following Kindel’s keynote there will be another hour of education. We’ll have a Happy Hour hosted by Matt Scott and Control4’s Brad Hintze at 5 et. After kids, and dinner, we’ll invite you back for our evening keynote on business in this crisis with a discussion with Joe Whitaker.

Day two kicks off with Mitch Klein talking about the history of CEDIA and how we’ve overcome every crisis. Education follows Mr. Klein then come back for our noon keynote with more education following. Matt Scott will close out the conference at the end of day 2 with another discussion on ways to come out of this stronger. Most of these courses will get you CEDIA renewal units as well.

The commercial LFH conference is being finalized as we speak. So, keep an eye on this space and on the AVNation site for more information. Let’s just say, we have some chief executive keynotes kicking off each day April 14 and 15 and those will get your AVIXA RUs.

TLDR; virtual residential business conference for free April 7 and 8. Sign up here.

  1. […] AVNation’s Commercial Learn From Home Virtual Summit, held from April 14 -16, featured nine keynotes and 27 AV courses, many of which offered encouragement, thought leadership, and practical business methods and approaches to staying focused and thriving as the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic continues to rewrite and reshape our personal and professional lives. What emerged over the three-day virtual gathering was not only an openness about where we stand as an industry, but also how much we need each other to stand firm in the belief that this too shall pass. In the meantime, we must keep learning, evolving, and innovating our businesses and our perceptions to be ready for the future. […]
