AVWeek 606: Thanks, Canada

O, Canada

April Fools’ Day seemed relatively quiet this year, perhaps because we have enough shenanigans in the real world. But we’re not going to feed you a joke, instead we are here to discuss the latest news from the commercial side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Director of Marketing & Strategic Partnership for OneFirefly Jessica Weiss, Extron Director of Product Marketing Derek Joncas, and Partner & Founder Principal of Integrated Systems at Kirkegaard Bren Walker.

Just this last week, Enterprise Connect held its annual show in Orlando, getting a look at the latest in communications and customer experience. The show has grown since returning to the physical space, which is a good sign for trade shows in general. We discuss the highlights of the show and what it means for our industry moving forward.

Canadian start-up VueReal has showcased a process to print displays. This technology is capable of producing displays at a resolution of 30,000 LED light pixels per pitch. Not only is this a cool story for LED nuts like Tim, but also has an interesting angle on local manufacturing and possibly the supply chain. We look at both sides while also giving some credit to our nothern neighbors.
