  • Bond Home Taps 2022 CEDIA Expo to Demonstrate Award-Winning Bond Bridge Pro and Introduce Wireless Sidekick Shade and Scene Keypads

Bond Home Taps 2022 CEDIA Expo to Demonstrate Award-Winning Bond Bridge Pro and Introduce Wireless Sidekick Shade and Scene Keypads

Bond Home, the New Jersey-based tech brand known for its Bond Bridge RF-to-WiFi control solutions that bring app-based, voice-activated, and home automation system control to RF remote-operated motorized appliances like window shades, film screens, ceiling fans, and more, has much in store for Expo attendees (booth 29087).

    Bond Bridge Pro

Featured will be the Bond Bridge Pro. A 2021 CEPro Magazine IoT/Connected Product award winner — and 2022 CEDIA Expo Best New Hardware Product Award Finalistthis solution commands the appliance via its device hub and Bond Home App (smartphones and tablets). The App adds scheduling/programming plus voice activation via Josh.ai, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings Apps.

Bond Bridge also easily integrates with Control4, Crestron, Elan, RTI, Homebridge, and Hubitat control systems. No installation or wiring is required, and a single Bond Bridge Pro can control fifty connected appliances in a 3,500-square-foot home.

Sidekick Shade and Scene Battery-Powered Keypads

Bond will tap the event to unveil its new Sidekick Keypads. The Sidekick Shade Keypad is a wireless 5-channel universal remote that provides direct individual and group control to motorized shades/awnings with no advance planning or wiring required. It is compatible with most motorized window shades and awnings including Rollease, Somfy, Dooya, Nice, and AMP.

When used with the Bond Bridge Pro, the Bond Home App (and home control system if integrated) depicts the correct open/closed state of the shade as if it were a 2-way smart shade.

As told by Bond Home CEO Zohar Shinar this fail-safe feature is appreciated by homeowners and home tech pros alike. “No other shade remotes offer such advanced functionality. This makes Sidekick the only SKU installers need for direct wireless shade control,” he said.

Also debuted will be a scene-control optimized version, the Sidekick Scene Keypad. In addition to controlling shades, this fully programmable wireless keypad triggers any automation, including multiple devices with a single command.

Pre-program scenes based on mood or time of day. This is through shades, lighting, entertainment, HVAC, and more. Actions can be triggered based on tap, double tap, and holding down any of the keypad’s 8 buttons. For scene applications requiring fewer buttons, soon 6- and 3-button keysets will be available.

Both Sidekicks may be flush mounted on drywall or optionally mounted over an existing electrical box. Included is a white decora faceplate, and a replaceable coin-cell battery with up to 10-year life. Custom button engraving is available, arranged at the time of purchase.

  • CEDIA Expo and IMCCA Partner to Highlight the Future of Work from Home and Hybrid Office Solutions

CEDIA Expo and IMCCA Partner to Highlight the Future of Work from Home and Hybrid Office Solutions

CEDIA Expo, the platform where residential technology integration, design, and construction professionals connect, learn, and engage, announces the second annual IMCCA Work from Home Showcase at CEDIA Expo 2022. Through a partnership with CEDIA Expo, the Interactive Multimedia & Collaborative Communications Alliance (IMCCA) will bring insights, subject matter experts, and interactive demonstrations to CEDIA Expo 2022.

Unified communications and collaboration technologies have emerged in the residential space as business professionals and students have established home offices and flexible workspaces. During CEDIA Expo 2022, IMCCA will showcase work-from-home (WFH) setups in mock home office demos. The interactive demonstrations at sponsors’ exhibits and in the IMCCA Work from Home Showcase, will focus on the emerging home office market segments, including lighting fixtures and lighting control, sound control solutions, video and audio technology, collaboration software and hardware, and home office furniture.

“The revolution of remote and hybrid work is reshaping communication and collaboration across business and education segments,” said Jason McGraw, CTS, group vice president for CEDIA Expo and KBIS, Emerald. “Users require high-quality and professional-grade technology. These evolving requirements drive new trends in lighting, audio and video, conferencing and collaboration, and networking technology and provide increased business opportunities for residential systems integrators, designers, distributors, architects, home builders, and contractors. IMCCA will provide educational programming, resimercial technology insights, and an interactive activation to support attendees’ knowledge in this growing market segment.”

“As most enterprises have embraced Hybrid Working, and just about everyone understands that every meeting going forward will have at least one remote participant, the opportunity to develop and set standards for tens of thousands of work from home users is before us,” said Carol Zelkin, Executive Director of The IMCCA. “It’s a natural fit for the resimercial space to lead the way in developing and implementing these needed WFH standards in a way that fits nicely with enterprise requirements. Both residential and commercial integrators will benefit from the demonstrations and the expert-led sessions at this year’s CEDIA Expo.”

IMCCA will present a State of the Work from Home Industry session on the CEDIA Expo Smart Stage on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 12:00 pm CDT. • Snap One Envisions a Future of Smarter Living Made Possible by Integration Partners

Snap One Envisions a Future of Smarter Living Made Possible by Integration Partners

Snap One will return to CEDIA Expo 2022 with a broad range of new products and services for Partners, along with a renewed commitment to creating significant new revenue-generating opportunities that help Partners build stronger businesses.

“Today’s lifestyles are increasingly being defined by smart technologies that have to be installed, monitored, maintained, and upgraded on a regular basis to meet the ongoing needs of the consumers we all serve,” said John Heyman, CEO of Snap One. “Smarter living can’t be created using DIY products, or smart accessories, with multiple applications. Smart living is not static – it evolves over time, and as such, it requires a robust, reliable, and fully integrated ecosystem hinged on smart solutions.

“As such, the traditional ‘one and done’ nature of our industry is giving way to a new and much more exciting industry centered around sustained, long-term relationships between Partners and their customers,” Heyman asserted. “We envision a future in which the Partner is every bit as important to the homeowner as a doctor, mechanic, or accountant is today. Regular check-ins, daily monitoring, ongoing training, programmed updates, and more, will create new revenue streams for Partners.”

Heyman pledged that Snap One will always strive to provide the products, tools, processes, and business models to help the industry evolve by creating more happy and more profitable long-term customers.

Underscoring this point, he noted that, in the last three years, the company has invested over $200 million in new product development and doubled the number of Local stores operating throughout the United States and Canada, with more than a dozen scheduled to open over the next 12 months to provide Partners with what they need, when they need it, and where they need it — close to home.

Over the same time, the company acquired Access Networks, Staub Electronics, and, most recently, Clare Controls, while adding new third-party brands to its portfolio and enhancing its Partner Portals and Partner Rewards Program to make it faster, easier, and more rewarding to purchase products and get the support and training Partners to need, all in one place.

The company’s pace of innovation on the product front is accelerating and will continue to be a top priority. The OvrC remote management solution has been re-engineered for performance while creating a revenue stream for Partners. Updates to Control4 deliver new features and capabilities that strengthen its position as the most powerful automation platform for smart living in homes and businesses.

The company’s investment further establishes Snap One as the place where ‘Pros buy Audio’ with Triad PDX series of architectural speakers, Episode Terrain hardscape subwoofers, amplifiers, and beyond.

At CEDIA 2022, Snap One will debut several next-generation product lines from Control4, Episode, Luma, Araknis, and Access Networks – in addition to showcasing recently released solutions like the Control4 CORE Controllers, SunBrite Veranda 3 outdoor television, Triad PDX speaker series, and WattBox 800 Series power products.

“As an industry, we have faced some challenges over the last few years, but our future is bright,” Heyman concluded. “People want smart living experiences, and in the future, more people will want more of them — which means our opportunity as an industry is growing even as it evolves. We believe that, more than ever before, this future will be created by and anchored in Partner integrators who are every bit as smart as the customers they serve and the environments they create.”

Snap One is exhibiting its integrated line of control, networking, audio, power, and lighting solutions at CEDIA 2022 at Booth 16055.
