  • CEDIA Expo 2022 to Feature the Hottest Outdoor Technology at Destination Backyard

CEDIA Expo 2022 to Feature the Hottest Outdoor Technology at Destination Backyard

CEDIA Expo, the platform where residential technology integration, design and construction professionals connect, learn, and engage, announces Destination Backyard, an outdoor oasis highlighting the hottest A/V technology from Coastal Source and Séura. Coastal Source, a manufacturer of outdoor audio and lighting systems, has partnered with Séura, a manufacturer of outdoor TVs, indoor waterproof TVs, TV mirrors, and lighted mirrors, to host Destination Backyard at CEDIA Expo 2022.

Destination Backyard is a 24,000-square-foot area that provides a first-hand look at what is possible for outdoor spaces. The one-of-a-kind area is designed to showcase Coastal Source and Séura’s fully weatherproof product lines in the real outdoor environments they’re designed and engineered to withstand. The outdoor event will feature grassy areas, patio furniture, lawn games, outdoor seating, and canopy tents while displaying the latest outdoor innovations from Coastal Source and Séura’s industry-leading product lines.

“Destination Backyard was a highlight of CEDIA Expo 2019. We are excited to be returning even bigger and better in 2022,” said Franco D’Ascanio, president and founder of Coastal Source. “Coastal Source is again partnering with Séura to demonstrate our products in their natural element: the great outdoors. Across a truly huge outdoor space, we will demonstrate our award-winning outdoor audio and lighting and a wide swath of new products in both categories.”

“We are thrilled to, once again, partner with Coastal Source to bring Destination Backyard to CEDIA Expo 2022,” added Rob Emberley, president of Séura. “This outdoor party will function as the ultimate outdoor television and audio demo experience, with drinks, games, and a dozen Séura outdoor TVs in the sun and shade. We are confident that the hot Dallas sun will help us demonstrate our competitive edge, with TVs that are 30% brighter than the nearest competition, the best anti-glare screen performance, and proprietary Extreme Temperature Protection with active heating and cooling.”

  • Platinum Tools & TechLogix Exhibit High Bandwidth Signal Termination Systems During 2022 CEDIA Expo

Platinum Tools & TechLogix Exhibit High Bandwidth Signal Termination Systems During 2022 CEDIA Expo

NSI Industries brands’ Platinum Tools and TechLogix Network will be exhibiting high bandwidth signal termination systems during CEDIA Expo 2022, held in Dallas from Sept. 29 – Oct. 1.

“In today’s networks, twisted pair cables are demanding more speed and bandwidth,” explained Sean Rothermel, Platinum Tools product manager. “To help meet these requirements, Cat5e/6/6A cables have increased in size. Both the outer diameter of the cable and the insulation diameter of the conductors are larger and vary by manufacturer, making cable and connector compatibility a challenge. Our award-winning and patented ezEX-RJ45® Termination System is the solution…providing greater cable to connector compatibility to meet higher performance demands.”

Designed for larger cables and conductors with a Hi-Lo stagger of conductors, one piece/pass through, and no bars or liners resulting in high-performance termination, the ezEX-RJ45® connector is the only UL listed & PoE/ PoE + compliant pass-through connector on the market.

“The ezEX-RJ45® connector’s patented design and built-in channels make is easy to slide the conductors through the connector and stay in order,” Rothermel continued. “It is also approved by Verizon and Frontier Communications, making it the ideal choice for integrators and technicians.”

The EXO Crimp Frame® is a RJ45 crimp tool that can terminate multiple sizes of cables and conductors. The EZ-RJ45® Die gives the ability to terminate EZ-RJ45 connectors, and the EXO-EX™ Die terminates ezEX-RJ45® connectors.

Fast and reliable networks, AV over IP distribution, and point-to-point HD video extension require a solid fiber optic connection with very low signal loss. Historically, this meant fusion splicing connections because the tolerances with mechanical (or field-installable) connectors could vary. LC connectors in particular have a very small 1.25mm ferrule size and any misalignment during installation will lead to intermittent performance and signal degradation over time.

“TechLogix ECOConnector™ field-installable fiber optic connectors provide the quick, easy, and reliable termination of fiber optic cable…no epoxy, crimping, polishing or proprietary tools required,” said Cameron Smith, NSI V.P. “Unlike other connectors which are marketed as ‘one size fits all’ and experience signal variability on different cable formats, ECO Series™ connectors are cable construction specific to ensure perfect ferrule alignment and best-in-class long-term reliability. Plus, ECOConnectors allow re-termination up to five times and are tamper-resistant when used with an included connector reset jig.”

Projector screen manufacturer Severtson Screens will showcase the SAT-4K and TAT-4K Acoustically-Transparent projection screens and its 4K thin bezel fixed frame projection screen solutions during CEDIA Expo 2022.

“Our SAT-4K and TAT-4K have received tremendous accolades since their launch, and we are proud to build upon their success with the next generation which features an even finer weave that makes the viewing image even better than before,” explained Aaron White, Home Theater & Pro AV sales lead at Severtson Corp. “Made in the USA, the SAT-4K and TAT-4K replicate the cinema experience in the home and commercial settings like no other projection screen on the market today. The TAT-4K offers the same innovative technology as the SAT-4K, but is designed specifically for installations with incoming ambient light, meeting and exceeding all industry standards for optimum acoustic performance.”

The SAT-4K offers a seamless projection screen up to 15ft., 10in., and, like the TAT-4K, is also available as an option for Severtson’s new 4K thin bezel fixed frame projection screen solutions. • Gain: 1.18
    • Max height: 15 ft. 10 in. (seamless); larger available (with seam)

“Since its launch, Severtson’s TAT-4K Titanium Acoustically-Transparent screens have offered the ultimate viewing experience with the best audio frequency response in the industry,” added White. “The TAT-4K’s uniform pattern weave is unique. With these screens, there is virtually no audio or video scatter. At the same time, the screens

preserve superior and deeper contrast in areas with limited light control. Additionally, the titanium-grey shade on the TAT-4K preserves picture contrast even in rooms that are not completely dark, so you get a crisp image that will amaze viewers.”

The TAT-4K is compatible with 2D, Active 3D, 4K, and Laser projection applications. Also available in Impression Series Fixed, Deluxe Series Fixed, Deluxe Curved Series Fixed, Pro, and Cinema Frame configurations, the TAT-4K comes in heights ranging from 37in. for an Impression Series home theater screen, to 10ft. 3in. for a Pro-Frame or cinema screen.”

    Additional TAT-4K specifications include:

    • Surface: TAT-4K acoustically woven screen material
    • Gain: .93
    • Max height: 10 ft. 3 inches
    • Viewing Angle: 160 degrees
    • Flame and mildew resistant

“The 4K Thin Bezel Series is a collection of premium fixed frame Severtson projection screens that offer a sturdy extruded aluminum frame with a 3/8-inch visible bezel which has a very aesthetically appealing appearance,” explained Toby Severtson, president and CEO of Severtson Corp. “They are an excellent addition to any home theater, venue, conference room, or other location that needs a modern, high-performance projection screen.”

Severtson’s new 4K thin bezel fixed frame projection screen solution offers simple assembly and Severtson Screens’ signature USA-made projection surfaces which can be found in movie theatres around the world. An LED backlit add-on option is also available.

“Severtson Screens is proud to serve the home theater and commercial markets with the same service and quality that has taken the cinema market by storm and cemented us as the industry leader,” added Severtson.

Custom and standard sizes are available. Severtson asks that customers contact them directly for individual pricing for their specific needs.
