Corpo Standards
Fresh off the tails of our AV Network Nation virtual event, we sit down and have our regular dose of commercial news for the AV industry. Joining us in the discussion is Global Services Manager Charmaine Torruella, AV veteran and writer Brad Grimes, and Avocor Senior Vice President Dana Corey as we make our way through the latest stories coming out of AV.
Extron announced that their NAV Series meets the FIPS 140-2 certification guidelines. What this series of letters and numbers means is that this technology meets security standards up to a federal level. It is not an easy task, and we discuss the importance of certifications like this and selling AV into the governmental channels.
Crestron has collaborated with Microsoft to release a new series of scheduling panels built from the backbone of their own new 70 Series solutions. As we slowly get workers back into the office space, what are the features we should look for in these types of solutions? We also look at the value of that relationship to be had between the solution manufacturer and software developers.
Also, the AVNation Best of 2020 Awards are open! Nominations are available for the many categories, including the new “Best Virtual Event”. Get those in before the year ends and get ready for the voting in early January. Host: Tim Albright
