The Times, They Are-A Changin’
Even though every show is coming back to the physical space, we are here to bring you the latest news from the commercial side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Director of Systems Solutions for QSC Cory Schaeffer and ATEN Channel Account Manager Tammy Fuqua.
Last week was the National Association of Broadcasters Show, also known as NAB 2022. Tim and our guests were able to attend along with over 50,000 other attendees. As it’s in the name, a major topic of the show was the experience of the broadcast. Companies like LG have been making strides with display technology to make virtual sets that go well beyond standard greenscreen capabilities. We discuss AV’s part in that space and where technology like this could be best served. The show itself is a great place to talk about the other upcoming shows in the AV space. Although the numbers for NAB 2022 are down from 2019’s show, it still sets a good precedence for other returning shows like Integrated Systems Europe and InfoComm. We discuss the experience of the show and what it means for the rest of the live event space in 2022.
Speaking of LG, LG Electronics has earned the highest possible rating in Marriott International’s MindClick Sustainability Assessment Program, or MSAP. The auditing process determined that LG has earned the Leader rating once more, seven years running. How important is sustainability for the AV industry? And how important are programs like this to encourage manufacturers to strive for greener AV?
