Turn Off That Light!
You might be enjoying your Labor Dabor, but the news knows no paltry boundaries like national holidays. That’s why we’re here to bring you the latest stories coming out of the commercial side of the AV industry and discuss them with a panel of experts. Joining us this week is Zooms Rooms Team member Malissa Dillman, AV Design Consultant for CTI Xzavia Killikelly and Founder of Catch Technologies Patrick Murray.
Commercial Integrator has announced the latest 40 under 40 for 2022. As the name implies, this list is focused on young individuals within the AV industry making a difference. And our guest Xzavia Killikelly is one of those influential people in the Class of 2022! We celebrate this achievement and discuss what it means for the industry to spotlight those working to improve it.
Speaking of improvement, AVIXA has released their Pro AV Index for July. While there is some slight downturn, the organization sees this as another solid month. This, in spite of the chip shortages and supply chain issues inherent across all technologic industries. We look at this from a national and global scale and see where the economy is headed for the rest of the year.
A recent regulation in Germany has banned the use of light-emitting advertisement displays after 10PM. By the time this podcast posts, the rule will be in effect save for some exemptions. Those exemptions are hazy at best, sparking some confusion between integrators required to make the required changes to these devices. This ban is part of an effort to reduce energy consumption in compliance with the European Union. Could we see similar regulations within the US, and how could those affect our industry?
CEDIA Expo is happening in Dallas starting on September 29th. They have announced that they are once again working with the IMCCA to host their annual Work From Home Showcase, which is exactly what it says on the tin. Which means it’s once again time to talk about the resimercial space. What should integrators know when it comes to crossing over from commercial to residential, and the kinds of commercial-grade products that are making their way into the home space?
