EDTech 102: Failures & Foibles

Writing on Screens

The year and semester may be coming to a close, but we’ve got enough time to get in one more higher education show! Joining us to discuss the latest news in AV and Higher Ed is Ernie Baily, Rob Rasberry and Scott Tiner.

A campus in New Jersey is finding great value in Samsung’s interactive display solutions. Their aptly named Samsung Interactive Displays have enabled educators at the Stevens Institute of Technology to streamline the learning environment for hybrid students both in the classroom and online. Smart surfaces, both in reality and in quotation marks, have been a hallmark of classrooms for a few decades. Gone are the days of dusty chalkboards and even to an extent smudged whiteboards. Are interactive displays like this the next step for higher education?

Speaking of learning tools, we get a look at Scott’s own article about Learning Spaces. He writes about the technology that goes into the classroom and the many factors to take into consideration when building a space for learning.

And since it’s the last story of the year, why not have a little fun with it? Commercial Integrator has compiled some of the truly terrifying stories and jobs from this industry. We go around and discuss some of our own horror stories and terrible tales around the globe.
