If The Cows Aren’t Dead
Whether you’re buried in snow or just plain cold, we have the residential news for the AV industry to keep you warm inside. Results may vary. Joining us is CEO & Chief Strategist for KMB Communications Katye McGregor-Bennett and Founder & President of Thoughtful Integrations Joe Whitaker.
First we take a moment to acknowledge the recipients of the 2021 Women in Consumer Technology Legacy Awards. This is an annual award honoring remarkable women in the consumer technology space. Congratulations!
Technology research company Omdia states that 30% of all TV displays sold by 2025 will be high-end models. Is this necessarily true? We don’t want to dismiss this research entirely, but instead want to make some observations of our own to compare what might be expected. Are we looking too far ahead, especially considering the anomaly that was 2020?
Speaking of reports, The National Kitchen & Bath Association has released their 2021 Market Outlook Report. It reports a high rebound in industry growth, going from -5.9 percent in 2020 to 16 percent for this year. Some of the factors that brought this conclusion were the amount of renovations to projects made over quarantine. However, the AV industry isn’t just kitchen and bath, so what can we really do with these numbers? Does this just mean our space will be just as good, or is there a place that integrators can utilize the tech they know and put them in these verticals?
