The Beast of Possibility
Matt may be out on assignment (Which makes it sound like James Bond, but let’s be honest… It’s more Spies Like Us) but the news doesn’t stop for anyone! That’s why Tim is here along with some industry experts to discuss the latest stories on the residential side of AV. Joining us this week is the Executive Editor for Residential Tech Today Jeremy Glowacki and Vanco’s Director of Training and Product Knowledge Frank Santos.
Crestron wants human-centric lighting to become second nature within the residential space. Easier said than done. We have talked at length about biophilia, wellness solutions and the Circadian Rhythm as it applies to lighting in the home. Companies like Crestron can use their solutions to mimic the way the sun moves around and provide benefits for the client. When will these systems hit the mainstream and really jettison wellness AV for the home?
We next look a pair of different surveys. The first survey comes from Parks Associates, and entails the research on how customers are getting the information about AV solutions. CE Pro themselves had a deep dive on how clients want these systems installed, and if they want to see any technology at all. Unsurprisingly, most clients want their devices neither seen nor heard. The most interesting tidbit from these surveys are the reliance on manufacturer websites over things like product reviews and online publications! We focus on the hidden AV aspect and discuss what manufacturers like Vanco are seeing when they talk to their dealers and the value of minimalism in the home space.
CEDIA Expo is coming back in full force to Dallas, from September 29nd through October 1st. One big feature they are showcasing this year is the return of the Innovation Hub, a feature focused on emerging technology and trends in the industry. It will look at spaces like resimerical, working from home, and security solutions just to name a few. We ask our panelists what they are looking forward to the most when it comes to the latest innovations for the residential side of AV technology.
