Does It Matter?
Clear out the cobwebs and get ready for the biggest stories from the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us this week to discuss the news is Client Success Manager for Control Concepts Brittany DiCesare and Executive Editor for Residential Tech Today Jeremy Glowacki.
We first look at the rise of Matter, who are adding support for fridges, robot vacuums and much more for the smart home. IoT systems bringing together solutions in the home is nothing new, but Matter is growing in a way that it’s becoming a strong standard. But despite that, the CI channel has yet to really catch on. What’s it going to take to get Matter really in the residential space?
Speaking of the internet of things, we look at the future of digital security as it pertains to IoT devices. There are a host of challenges for vulnerabilities and trust issues within the IoT space, and making sure your systems are locked up is an important thing to worry about. We discuss what this means for integrators moving forward.
Finally, HTSA’s 2023 Fall conference involved a discussion about developing industry trends including the advent of AI in AV. We’re no stranger to the concept. We have a whole series of AVNation Specials dedicated to looking at the scope of AI and AV! We look at the potential tools that AI could provide for the residential space.
