The Brightest Bulb Has Burned Out

Matt is on the lam after last week’s Sonos-stravaganza. Tim is out for his [REDACTED]th birthday. It falls on the producer Mitchell to bring you the latest news and stories for the residential space. Thankfully, he’s joined by actual experts in the field including Jason Knott from D-Tools, Jeremy Glowacki from Residential Tech Today and Henry Clifford from Livewire.

Brilliant, makers of smart lighting solutions, has run out of money. According to their CEO they have laid off staff, shut down support and stopped selling products. There are some hopes of a buyout, but nothing has been said publicly thus far. We look at what this means for the company and the lighting space as a whole moving forward.

The US Census Bureau has released statistics surrounding house construction for April. While it is up by 5.7%, it was down a whole 17% in March. We look at the numbers and how they apply to the industry at large.
