For ten years, SCN has looked through the AV industry to find and induct the most influential people into their Hall of Fame. We’ve taken the time to sit down with each of them to discuss their journey through the industry and what AV means to them. And as much as Tim likes to downplay his significance, he certainly belongs on this list.|

Tim Albright is persistently passionate about the AV industry. It’s why despite running AVNation for over ten years and having taken part in probably all of the multiple shows at least once, he always tells people not to follow him but rather the various people that find their way onto the shows. Tim studied radio and broadcasting at Lewis & Clark Community College, eventually starting his radio career at KMOX at the tail end of the millennia. After having his first child, he got away from the schedule of morning shows and joined his alma mater as the manager of media electronics. From there he found the world of AV and having enjoyed it so much, found a distinct lack of podcasts surrounding the space. In 2011, he started the first AVWeek and has since maintained an episode of the show every single week since. It has since spiraled out to feature many different aspects of the AV industry from all kinds of different voices. Rather than cobble together a way to make Tim interview himself, SCN’s own Megan Dutta joins us to discuss his start into AV, the importance of diversity and equity within the industry, and the future of AV as it stands.
