AVIXA to present Power Hour tracks on Digital Signage and learning technology

FAIRFAX, Va.– AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, will present Power Hour webinar tracks for digital signage and learning technology, which will run from February through May 2021.

“AVIXA’s different Power Hour tracks explore the latest trends in thriving AV solution areas and markets,” said Pam Taggart, Vice President of Content Creation, AVIXA. “During the sessions, technology managers, systems integrators, manufacturers, and other experts share their unique experiences and forecasts for the future. We’re excited to collaborate with thought leaders from the Digital Signage Federation (DSF) and EDUCAUSE to dive into the world of digital signage and top-of-mind issues for learning tech managers in our upcoming sessions.”

Digital Signage

Digital signage is one of the fastest-growing AV solutions. It is expected to grow from $33.3 billion in 2021 to $42.7 billion in 2025, according to AVIXA’s 2020 AV Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis (IOTA).

AVIXA has teamed up with the DSF to present the D=SIGN Power Hour track focused on digital signage. Brian Gorg, Executive Director of DSF, will lead the session Screen Mirroring and Engagement on Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. EST, to explore how screen mirroring is emerging as a way for both repurposing existing display technology and allowing more personalized interaction. Panelists Tyler Renstrom from Clear Touch Interactive and Sean Courtney from Squirrels will join Gorg to discuss how this solution is being used in hospitality, corporate, education, healthcare, and other environments.

Learning Technology

The education sector is forecast to spend $23.4 billion in AV products and services in 2021 globally, according to AVIXA’s IOTA report. Major investments are being made in conferencing and collaboration solutions to enable distance learning and security/surveillance/life safety to keep campuses safe. With these types of AV solutions, overall network security, data sharing, and data privacy is becoming increasingly more important.

To examine what this means for higher education institutions, AVIXA will host the Learning Tech Manager’s Power Hour session Scaling Security on Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. EST. Mark McCormack from EDUCAUSE, Bas Cordewener from European University Information Systems (EUNIS), Patrick Maltusch of Aalto University, and Frank Padikkala of Diversified will discuss the biggest threats to higher education institutions and how to prepare for these. They’ll also share how to develop a risk-based security strategy that detects and prevents threats as well as communicating best practices.
