Sharp NEC Gives Update on Merger at InfoComm 2021

As part of our continued coverage of InfoComm 2021, AVNation talks with Sharp NEC. Director of Product Marketing – LCD & Projector at Sharp NEC Kevin Christopherson explains the latest joint venture and how the company is moving forward.

In November of last, Sharp and NEC announced a joint venture by Sharp acquiring 66% of shares for NEC Display Solutions Ltd, a subsidiary of NEC. Almost a year later, and the company is working on bringing the two previous systems into one. Sharp NEC’s goal is to get the backend smoothed out by the start of next year.

The new company is still working on strengthening its product roadmap, combining complementary products from the two former companies.
