Our friend and regular contributor, USC’s Dr. Adaline Tatum, gave us a heads up that she’s launched a Backpack and School Supplies Drive for the students at Shiloh SDA Primary School in Mango Creek and Independence Village, Belize, Central America.
In her words, “I believe that equipping these young minds with the necessary tools will empower them to excel academically and achieve their full potential.”

International Educational Initiative “School Supplies Drive”
Education is the cornerstone of a bright future, and I firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow in a nurturing environment. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I have been inspired to initiate a Backpack and School Supplies Drive for the students at Shiloh SDA Primary School in Mango Creek and Independence Village, Belize, Central America.
I understand that many families face financial challenges, and providing essential school supplies can be a burden. My goal is to ease this burden by collecting backpacks and school supplies to distribute among the 190 students enrolled. I believe that equipping these young minds with the necessary tools will empower them to excel academically and achieve their full potential.
It would be an honor to have you collaborate with me on this initiative. My aim is to collect a variety of school supplies, including but not limited to backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, erasers, rulers, and other essentials required by the students. I truly believe that a well-equipped backpack can instill a sense of pride, motivation, and readiness to learn in each child.
