the challenge
For their first build of the Arksen 85 model, the ship’s design and accompanying technology needed to meet the unique requirements of this boat and match Arksen’s core values, balancing function and luxury. Arksen ships put sustainability at the forefront as they are manufactured using recycled material wherever possible and designed to operate with minimal environmental impact and maximum energy. The Arksen 85 needed to provide comfort while having simple control of lighting and HVAC systems, entertainment opportunities to keep guests occupied for remote cruising, and safety features through comprehensive monitoring and alarm systems.

AV integrator ClearSphere deployed a Creestron control system and combined it with a range of third-party systems to create a complex and comprehensive integration for the luxury explorer yacht. The bespoke Crestron control system was designed to enhance and complement the values outlined by Arksen and leveraged the DM NVX® AV-over-IP platform to meet all entertainment requirements.

Seamless integration and intuitive control of all onboard systems enhance the owner’s overall experience and enjoyment while cruising remote regions. The advanced functionality and personalized features provided by the Crestron system have exceeded their expectations, offering a luxurious and comfortable onboard lifestyle tailored to their preferences and needs.
The multi-cabin DM NVX AV-over-IP audio and video distribution system provides entertainment options for guests and crew alike. The platform even supports enjoyment in remote locations with limited internet connectivity, enhancing the overall onboard experience during long journeys. DM NAX® Audio-over-IP technology covers distributed audio across eight zones with Bowers & Wilkins speakers. With distributed audio, music can be played in all cabins. Guest and crew are also able to use AirPlay® software individually in each cabin or throughout the yacht.
Video from the central media server and CCTV system is distributed to five televisions through DM NVX AV-over-IP solutions. The addition of a large media server ensures there is always something to watch, even when internet connectivity is sparse or prohibitively expensive. Further control of all television is accessible through Crestron touch screen remotes and touch screens.
The yacht’s rugged explorer credentials and ambitious cruising plans made the Arksen 85 a unique and engaging proposition. Throughout the vessel, the centralized control interface allows crew members to efficiently manage and monitor energy usage, optimize power generation, and control environmental settings to enhance comfort while minimizing environmental impact.
