MultiDyne Extends Next-Gen NanoBrix Vision at NAB Show 2025

At NAB Show 2025, MultiDyne is expanding its next-gen NanoBrix Series with the introduction of the NB2-10G-TRX, a compact and cost-effective solution for extending 10G Ethernet signals over fiber. This is the second device in the updated NanoBrix lineup, following last year’s NB2-12G-HDMI release. These devices are designed for modern broadcast, streaming, and AV environments, focusing on flexibility, rugged design, and easy integration—including magnetic mounting and USB-C power connections. MultiDyne’s redesign boosts both durability and performance, building on technology acquired from Census Digital.

The new NB2-10G-TRX supports various fiber types and includes a PoE++ option to power external devices, making it ideal for demanding IT and media workflows. Meanwhile, the NB2-12G-HDMI continues to serve as a powerful bridge between SDI and HDMI systems with advanced audio routing capabilities. Both devices showcase MultiDyne’s commitment to compact, high-performance tools that meet the growing connectivity and monitoring needs in today’s fast-evolving IT and media ecosystems.

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems has updated its NanoBrix Series of miniature throwdown converters the NB2-10G-TRX, a cost-effective solution to extend 10G Ethernet signals over fiber-optic cable. The NB2-10G-TRX is the second device added to the next-generation NanoBrix Series, which expands its scope of signal processing functions to serve more formats and networking needs common in today’s broadcast, streaming and AV media ecosystem.

MultiDyne formally announced its next-gen NanoBrix NB2 Series at NAB last year with the NB2-12G-HDMI converter, which addressed the increasing need to display professional 12G-SDI signals on LED monitors with HDMI 2.0 inputs. The two devices embody the refreshed design characteristics to be applied across all NanoBrix devices over time, improving durability, connectivity and concealment. The latter is made possible through magnetic strips to support quick mounting inside racks or stacked configurations.

MultiDyne took ownership of the NanoBrix Series following its acquisition of Census Digital, which designed the products for endurance within the technical core. MultiDyne has amplified NanoBrix product durability with a new outer shell to better protect electronics and connections. That includes new 5-volt USB/USB-C powering connections to be found on all NB2 Series devices, which will also ship with accessory cables. NB2 Series devices have also been designed for population within a ruggedized enclosure, now in development, to house and develop multiple NB2 devices.

Visitors to MultiDyne’s North Hall LVCC booth (N423) today through Wednesday can see the following:

NB2-10G-TRX

This new device is a 10GbE RJ-45 fiber extender LC or ST connectors. A standard RJ45 connector provides the 10G copper interface while the SFP is plugged into the opposite side. The SFP’s and allow for standard 1310 nm, WDM 1270/1330 nm, all 18 CWDM available wavelengths for single mode fiber and 850nm for multimode fiber. A PoE++ option the NB2-10G-TRX-POE comes with a 56 VDC power supply allowing for up to 90-Watt output on the RJ45 to power external devices.

NB2-12G-HDMI

This device is a 12G to HDMI 2.0 converter with SDI and fiber optic input options, offering a comprehensive audio and video monitoring solution. The NB2-12G-HDMI accepts a single link SDI input ranging from SD up to 12G-SDI with a reclocked SDI output to feed downstream equipment. The unit provides external audio outputs that can be routed to powered speakers. Audio outputs are DIP switch selectable to be either a stereo pair or a Lt/Rt multichannel downmix, allowing for 5.1 audio to be mixed down to stereo.
