swXtch.io is showcasing its latest networking solutions at NAB New York, the SRT-X Gateway and groundSwXtch, designed to boost performance and scalability across both cloud and on-prem workflows. The new SRT-X Gateway, launching in January, delivers the industry’s highest stream density for SRT transport, enabling users to move hundreds of broadcast-quality video streams efficiently through a single network. Its multicast-enabled, containerized design offers low-latency performance, simplified configuration, and cost-effective scalability through a flexible stream-based pricing model.
Making its North American debut, groundSwXtch extends swXtch.io’s virtual overlay technology to on-prem environments, providing software-defined multicast, SDI-to-IP conversion, and packet protection. Together, SRT-X Gateway and groundSwXtch create a unified, secure, and reliable bridge between ground and cloud workflows, helping media and IT professionals streamline live production and content delivery with better efficiency and lower infrastructure costs.
swXtch.io will highlight two new networking solutions this week at NAB New York that extend the company’s reach across more cloud and on-prem workflows. swXtch.io will accentuate the value of SRT-X Gateway, a pure software solution that achieves the industry’s highest stream density on the market, and showcase the award-winning groundSwXtch virtual overlay network for on-prem networks. Both can be seen in Booth 762 in the Jacob Javits Center tomorrow and Thursday.
Shipping in January, SRT-X Gateway is a specialized implementation of swXtch.io’s cloudSwXtch overlay network that achieves new heights in efficient, scalable SRT streaming. swXtch.io’s application of multicast technology to SRT transport substantially increases stream capacity over competing solutions, allowing customers to move hundreds of broadcast-quality compressed video workflows through a single cloudSwXtch and/or groundSwXtch network. SRT-X Gateway’s unmatched density, along with its containerized software design, brings exceptional value to REMI production workflows seeking a streamlined solution for low-latency AVC/HEVC streams over SRT.
SRT-X Gateway’s higher capacity also allows customers to scale with ease, while swXtch.io’s “stream-based pricing model” reduces the cost per flow over time. Users are only billed for each active stream that enters or exits the gateway, enabling cost predictability and smarter scaling strategies based on production demands. Operationally, SRT-X Gateway’s multicast application simplifies configuration and ease of use through its ability to accept one source and distribute it to many endpoints – adding “switched” functionality to SRT’s point-to-point connectivity.
“swXtch.io developed SRT-X Gateway to serve the specific needs of moving SRT workflows and protecting SRT content between ground and cloud,” said Brent Yates, CEO, swXtch.io. “The proven SRT capabilities found within cloudSwXtch have been applied to a purpose-built solution that is affordable, secure, easy to use, and quick to configure and deploy. Our customers also have a solution that can dynamically scale up and down with their needs, and reduce extraneous usage and network infrastructure costs.”
swXtch.io debuted SRT-X Gateway and groundSwXtch at IBC in Amsterdam last month; NAB New York marks the North American debut for both solutions. groundSwXtch brings software-defined multicast capabilities, SDI to IP, Dash 7X and more to physical on-prem environments. Analogous to the groundbreaking cloudSwXtch design, groundSwXtch operates as a software packet switch that is deployable on a customer’s servers or VM infrastructure at any location. By pairing groundSwXtch with cloudSwXtch, customers can natively unify on-prem and cloud environments with failsafe packet protection across ground-to-cloud links.
