AIMS Wins Three Best of Show Awards for IPMX at InfoComm 2026

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) has earned three Best of Show awards for its IPMX™ open standards at InfoComm 2026, with recognition from AV Technology, Sound & Video Contractor, and rAVe Publications. The awards build on earlier honors from ISE 2026 and the NAB Show, highlighting growing industry confidence in IPMX as an interoperable AV-over-IP standard for professional AV deployments.

The recognition comes as IPMX continues to gain momentum with 52 certified products from 11 manufacturers, a second certification event planned for August, and a free online training program for the AV community. By extending SMPTE ST 2110 and AMWA NMOS for Pro AV, IPMX helps integrators and IT teams deploy scalable, interoperable, and cost-effective IP-based media systems across corporate, education, live events, and other environments.

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) today announced that the Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) suite of open standards and specifications received Best of Show recognition from three leading Pro AV publications at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas — AV Technology, Sound & Video Contractor (SVC), and rAVe Publications (rAVe). The InfoComm honors follow Best of Show recognition at ISE 2026 in February and a NAB Show Product of the Year Award in April.

AV Technology named IPMX among its Best of Show honorees at InfoComm 2026, recognizing the standard across a field of hundreds of submissions. Sound & Video Contractor selected IPMX for its Best of Show award, with judges noting that the AIMS partner ecosystem worked to extend SMPTE ST 2110 to meet AV-specific needs and that with products from more than a dozen manufacturers now certified and on the show floor, IPMX has arrived as a practical reality. rAVe Publications recognized IPMX as the Best AV-over-IP Solution in its Control and AV-over-IP category.

The awards build on a strong foundation of market momentum for IPMX in 2026. In January, the first IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event was completed at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in Geneva, resulting in 52 certified products from 11 manufacturers spanning encoders, decoders, gateways, cameras, displays, and processing platforms. A second certification event is scheduled for Aug. 24–28 to expand the certified product ecosystem further. AIMS also launched the Official IPMX Training Series in June, a free online program available at training.ipmx.io that supports the Pro AV community from foundational IPMX concepts through system and network design.

“Winning Best of Show at InfoComm after the same recognition at ISE and the NAB Product of the Year Award earlier this year tells us that the Pro AV industry is not just curious about open standards, it is ready to build on them,” said Andrew Starks, board of directors member and marketing working group chair for AIMS. “With 52 certified products already in the market, a second certification event coming in August, and the first part of the free training series now available to the community, IPMX is delivering on every front. These awards are a vote of confidence from the industry, and the path ahead has never looked brighter.”

IPMX is a set of open standards and specifications designed to extend SMPTE ST 2110–based media transport and AMWA NMOS–based control into a broader range of markets, including professional AV, live events, corporate media, education, and beyond. In addition to uncompressed workflows, IPMX introduces support for compressed video, simplified system timing, HDCP, and defined system profiles to make deployment more practical, scalable, and cost-effective for Pro AV environments. The certification program is designed to ensure predictable behavior, reliable interoperability, and adherence to the published IPMX test plans and specifications.
