Shure Brings Audio Expertise to Video Collaboration at InfoComm 2026

At InfoComm 2026, AVNation’s Tim Albright chatted with Ryan Budvitis from Shure about the company’s growing focus on collaboration technology and the U.S. debut of the IntelliMix BAR Pro.

While Shure is best known for its microphones and audio solutions, the company is expanding its role in video collaboration. First introduced at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026, the IntelliMix BAR Pro marks Shure’s latest step into the video bar category, combining its established audio expertise with advanced camera technology and artificial intelligence capabilities.

According to Budvitis, Shure’s approach differs from many video bar manufacturers by focusing on audio performance first. The IntelliMix BAR Pro incorporates next-generation microphone array architecture, integrated speakers, and built-in digital signal processing designed to address audio challenges in medium and large meeting spaces.

A key differentiator is expandability. The IntelliMix BAR Pro includes multiple connectivity options, including HDMI, USB, analog audio outputs, and a built-in four-port Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) switch. This enables organizations to add additional Shure array microphones while maintaining a single automated mixing environment.

Rather than replacing existing room technology, the system is designed to work as a unified platform. Built-in microphones and speakers operate alongside additional Shure devices, helping organizations extend coverage across larger spaces without increasing complexity.

On the video side, the IntelliMix BAR Pro integrates four cameras. A central camera captures wide room views and supports zoom functionality, while side cameras work with artificial intelligence to identify active speakers and determine the best viewing angles. By combining audio location data with camera intelligence, the system automatically creates more dynamic meeting experiences without requiring external pan-tilt-zoom cameras.

As collaboration spaces continue to evolve, solutions that combine scalability, simplified deployment, and high-quality audio and video are becoming increasingly important. Shure’s latest offering reflects the growing convergence of AV and IT while addressing the needs of organizations deploying collaboration technology across a range of room sizes.

For AV integrators, consultants, and technology managers, the IntelliMix BAR Pro demonstrates how audio expertise can influence the next generation of video collaboration solutions.
