DisplayNote is inviting digital signage providers, resellers, and workplace technology integrators to unlock more value from meeting room screens by combining digital signage with one-touch collaboration. By layering DisplayNote’s collaboration software over existing signage setups, unused meeting room screens can switch seamlessly between signage mode when idle and collaboration mode when meetings begin, making better use of existing AV investments.
Working alongside NowSignage, DisplayNote is showcasing this approach at ISE 2026 in Barcelona, demonstrating how organisations can simplify screen experiences, reduce complexity, and improve ROI. The combined solution helps IT teams deliver consistent, easy-to-use meeting spaces while also supporting internal communications, wayfinding, and brand messaging across the workplace.
Northern Ireland, 21st January, 2026 Belfast-based DisplayNote, which provides the experience operating layer that sits on top of room hardware to orchestrate collaboration, communications, and shared screen experiences today announced an open invitation to digital signage providers, resellers and workplace technology integrators to collaborate on enhancing digital signage capabilities in meeting spaces by layering DisplayNote’s call and app launching software alongside existing signage deployments.
DisplayNote’s aim is to help the industry create simpler, more consistent screen experiences across the workplace building an ecosystem of easy-to-use collaboration tools for meeting spaces.
Join us at ISE 2026 (3–6 February 2026), where DisplayNote will be meeting with signage and AV stakeholders to explore opportunities and shared customer use cases.
The opportunity: display screens spend much of the day underused
Across many organisations, shared screens are not in active use for significant portions of the working week. Workspace utilisation benchmarks have reported average meeting room utilisation of around 30%, leaving substantial “idle time” where screens are either powered down or showing non-purposeful content a missed opportunity for internal communications, wayfinding, brand messaging and ROI.
The approach: one screen, two modes
DisplayNote is working with NowSignage, a cloud-based digital signage CMS provider, to demonstrate how meeting room hardware can serve a dual purpose:
- Full-scale digital signage when the room is idle, managed through NowSignage
- One-touch collaboration when the room is in use, enabled through DisplayNote Launcher
DisplayNote Launcher is designed to create a consistent, walk-up experience in meeting spaces supporting call and app launching, screen sharing, and simplified room interaction. NowSignage provides a cloud-based CMS that helps teams manage and distribute signage content across multiple displays.
What this means for the channel:
For digital signage providers, resellers and AV/IT integrators, combining signage and collaboration capabilities can support:
- Expanded service scope across workplace communications and meeting room experiences
- Additional recurring revenue streams through managed services and software licensing
- Better utilisation of existing hardware, maximising return on AV investment
- More use cases driving more usage, supporting renewals and hardware refresh cycles
- Reduced complexity, with fewer points of failure when hardware and software are validated as fit for purpose
What this means for end customers:
For enterprise workplaces, local government estates, education settings and multi-site organisations, the combined approach can help:
- Enable more use cases from the same screen estate
- Create a consistent on-screen experience across meeting rooms and shared spaces
- Improve workplace communications and engagement, without compromising meeting room usability
- Reduce IT overhead, by consolidating screen experiences and management
- Lower support tickets, by simplifying “how to connect” moments and standardising room workflows
- Support ROI goals, including the option to use signage content to offset meeting room costs where appropriate
“Digital signage has transformed workplace communication, but meeting rooms remain one of the most under-utilised screen environments in many estates,” said Ryan McElvaney, Channel Manager, DisplayNote. “Our message to the signage market ahead of ISE is simple: let’s make meeting space screens work harder without making them harder to use. We’re enabling partners to collaborate with us to bring signage and one-touch collaboration together in a way that’s simple, secure and scalable.”
“Customers want consistency a screen experience that supports both communications and collaboration, without adding complexity,” said Richard Hutchinson, Global Sales Director, NowSignage. “By combining NowSignage’s cloud CMS with DisplayNote’s meeting room experience, organisations can get more value from the screens they already have, while keeping content management straightforward across multiple sites.”
