  • Control, adapt, and perfect graphics with Viz Trio 4.1

Control, adapt, and perfect graphics with Viz Trio 4.1

Vizrt announced the release of Viz Trio 4.1. Viz Trio 4.1 is the first application to enable streamlined control and playout of Vizrt’s latest graphics innovation – Adaptive Graphics – designed for and delivered to any platform of choice.

    Why Adaptive Graphics?

An increasingly autonomous audience and a shifting media and channel landscape create an extremely challenging environment for broadcasters. Not only must content be high quality and timely, but it also needs to be adapted to work equally well across multiple output platforms – without compromising on quality or endangering brand consistency. And as with any other challenge, it needs to be solved without adding resources.

Adaptive Graphics provides a single workflow-multi-platform content delivery that automatically adjusts resolution and format to support specific display devices. Effectively enabling graphics to be created once and published multiple times to multiple platforms – all as part of a single production line.

    Adaptive Graphics: Perfect control

An intuitive interface in Viz Trio 4.1 lets operators instantly switch the live graphics preview between different platforms – broadcast, mobile, square or any custom ratio. This allows them to monitor and adjust every output format, to ensure that the adapted graphics look amazing on all aspect ratios and deliver maximum audience engagement.

A single operator can play out the Adaptive Graphics scenes to all channels, saving time and resources for both broadcast and online production. This also eliminates the need to go back and forth with the design department to modify graphics, as the single graphics scene already contains the needed information to make the graphic look good in its designated format. By automating some of the multiplatform workflows, more resources can be dedicated to creating original and creative content.

“At the top level of production, there should never be a choice between speed and quality. To be competitive in today’s production environment, broadcasters need to deliver a consistent level of quality and a uniform branding experience. This is exactly what Adaptive Graphics and Viz Trio help them to do,” says Gerhard Lang, CTO, Vizrt.

“For years, our PRX800 Series loudspeakers have been first-call systems for bands, DJs, installers, and houses of worship in large part thanks to their acoustic profile, their low-end extension, and their volume,” said Brandon Knudsen, HARMAN Professional Product Manager, Portable PA Loudspeakers. “With the PRX900 Series, we’re taking things to the next level with next-gen acoustic innovations and an even brawnier power package to deliver clean, clear sound at any volume. Systems take advantage of the latest BLE technology and the JBL Pro Connect app ecosystem, for unrivaled control.”

The PRX900 Series is a versatile solution for DJs and bands, music venues, rental houses, corporate A/V providers, or anyone who seeks durable professional systems that deliver powerful, room-filling sound in any portable or installed scenario. Key innovations include:

    All-New Acoustic Designs

From cones to cabinets, the PRX900 Series is designed for advanced acoustic performance. Patented JBL 2408H-2 1.5” compression drivers with poly-annular diaphragms and neodymium magnets provide a clear, detailed high-frequency response; innovative new horns with updated JBL Image Control Waveguides deliver

  • Funktion-One Launches Wide Dispersion Loudspeaker Innovation, Evo X

Funktion-One Launches Wide Dispersion Loudspeaker Innovation, Evo X

Funktion-One has introduced what many will view as its most versatile loudspeaker to date. Evo X is a significant development of the full-range, completely horn-loaded loudspeaker. Utilizing the latest Funktion-One waveguide technology, it provides 90° horizontal dispersion and high SPL.

Evo X’s advanced driver technology delivers outstanding clarity, resolution, and detail across 90° horizontal dispersion, making it an excellent choice for live venues, small clubs, and theatres. It is capable of high SPL from a relatively compact speaker and can be deployed as a one-per-side or four-point system. While Evo X’s horizontal dispersion delivers even coverage across a wide area, its focused 15° vertical dispersion ensures the sound is concentrated on the audience, minimizing reflections and room excitement. The result is clear and involves sound.

Funktion-One founder Tony Andrews comments: “We’ve had a 90° full range loudspeaker on our radar for a while now, but it was the development of Vero VX that paved the way for Evo X. It’s an impressive piece of loudspeaker technology, which can be deployed in all kinds of environments. As part of its field testing, we’ve had a pair in Esher Theatre. I’ve heard a 16-piece big band through that system; the level of detail, separation, and the stereo image was remarkable considering the complexity of the signal.”

Esher Theatre’s Charlie Swift adds: “For us, the key point is the live experience you can’t get anywhere else. The Funktion-One sound leaves a lasting impression on the audience. I’ve never heard a system that presents every single instrument so clearly.”

Featuring the same isophase diffraction high-frequency waveguide technology as Vero VX, Evo X is designed for small to medium live events and installations, finding its optimal audience area at around 10m by 10m. Operating across 50Hz-18kHz, it combines very well with Funktion-One F Series and BR Range bass speakers for increased low-frequency energy. The wide bandwidth 8” mid-range extends to 5kHz, minimizing stress on the 1” high-frequency driver, while the 15” mid-bass comfortably handles 50Hz-280Hz.

Andrews explains: “The 1” driver is actually inside the Axhead. The challenge there was to keep the vertical dispersion narrow but still go the full height of the mid-range device. That’s where the isophase diffraction waveguide comes in.”

Evo X has been meticulously designed and engineered for high SPL and high efficiency, minimizing energy consumption and environmental impact. “It’s all-natural,” says Andrews. “There’s no onboard EQ required. I’m really pleased with it. It feels like a really good place to have got to after all these years.”

Evo X weighs 47kg, measures 604mm wide, 859mm high, and 540 mm deep, and is available with a custom wheel board which cradles the loudspeaker’s curved front. It is available now in a range of colors and finishes through Funktion-One’s global network of distributors and dealers.

Discovery servers support all NDI functionality and when in use, NDI can operate entirely in a unicast mode in nearly any installation.

BRIDGE LIVE v1.13.2 adds support for NDI groups, where sources can be organized and categorized for simplified management of NDI streams. For high-raster workflows, BRIDGE LIVE v1.13.2 enables output of NDI streams at 4K 60fps, and for the most complex production demands, the update expands input support for more than 100 NDI sources. Additionally, BRIDGE LIVE v.13.2 adds detection for MBAFF H.264 interlace and a new ability to determine the correct field order.

“BRIDGE LIVE features enterprise-level processing power to support the most rigorous demands of live production and critical streaming environments. To further simplify workflows and help teams deliver the highest quality streams, BRIDGE LIVE v1.13.2 expands NDI capabilities for more flexible workflows,” shared Nick Rashby, President of AJA Video Systems.

BRIDGE LIVE v1.13.2 is now available for existing users with an active maintenance agreement for download from AJA’s website. For more information, visit www.aja.com/products/bridge-live.

  • SoundTube Entertainment® Releases Line Array Speakers in White

SoundTube Entertainment® Releases Line Array Speakers in White

SoundTube Entertainment has released the LA880i-II and LA808i-II line array speakers in white with an updated aluminum casing. The new array aesthetic was initially introduced in 2021.

SoundTube LA880i-II’s proprietary LAPS (Line Array-Point Source) 3-way design provides a very short near-field extent and hearty far-field performance to create clear and concise sound. The LA880i-II maintains a more consistent ratio of array height to radiated wavelength with frequency tapering of low and mid-frequency passbands, ensuring a stable vertical beamwidth that outperforms many other single box line arrays.
