The Women of Programming

Programming is undeniably a male-dominated field. That’s not to say there aren’t any women who are programmers, but the proverbial scale is definitely not balanced. This episode was recorded in March for International Women’s Month, but the topic of diversity and inclusion is one that can’t simply be shelved away for only a month. To that end, we set out to recognize and celebrate the women that are a part of the AV programming community. Joining Steve and Rich Fregosa this month is Lead Programmer for Riordan Brothers Integration Hope Roth, Systems Programmer for Control Concepts Victoria Grupp and Software Engineer at QSC Caitlyn Sullivan to discuss women in the control programming space. We talk about their experiences as women programmers in the AV industry, the future role of AV programmers and more.
