I Miss Humanity!

Hope you’re enjoying a lovely three-day weekend following Memorial Day! Even if it is locked away in your proverbial vault. The news, however, takes no holidays or sick days, which means we have plenty to talk about. Joining us today is our pal and occasional pinch hitter-host George Tucker, possibly secret agent but also definitely host of our very own show AVSocial Dawn Meade, and newcomer to the show and Chief Technology Officer for USIS AudioVisual Systems Todd Hutchins as they discuss the latest happenings within the commercial side of the AV industry.

It was announced that Steve Durkee would be the new President of Legrand AV, taking over for the previous Scott Gill. Steve started his first week on the job just last week, and we were able to talk with him about the change in leadership in a one-on-one conversation. Shifts like this in a company can be a rocky transition. We discuss the best ways to ease into the next chapter of your company’s life, and what Legrand’s future looks like in Steve’s hands.

Next, college campuses are unsure about the fall semester of education, and plan on making their courses flexible in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even just three months away is still uncertain, and we take a look at the options available for colleges and campuses. What can the AV industry do for the supply and demand of getting these systems ready for fall?

AVIXA has announced the winners of their annual awards, and have planned a virtual ceremony to congratulate the winners during the virutal trade show InfoComm Connected. Looking at the highlights of the list like the Emerging Talent Award, and how these people are making an impact on our industry.
