Alphabet Soup of Options

Whether you’re celebrating America’s Independence Day, quietly ignoring the traitorous rebels or taking a third option with Canada Day, we’re here to look at the latest news coming out of the commercial side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is end-user & host of AVSocial Dawn Meade, Regional Manager for SurgeX Christie Mitchell and Group Leader at MITRE Nyere Hollingsworth.

In the before times of ISE 2020, Audinate announced that their audio solution Dante would be adding video capapbilities as well, bringing it into the AV over IP space. It’s finally here as part of new solutions from Bolin Technology and Patton Electronics. As more businesses return to working in the physical space, will we be seeing more AV over IP solutions in office spaces? Where does this fit with other AV over IP standards and organizations like SDVoE? Discussing what this move to video means for Dante and the industry as a whole moving forward.

Next we look at a report about the London Business School and how they leveraged software like Zoom & Utelogy solutions as well as AV hardware to grant more flexibility in teaching hybrid classes. The school was able to take previously installed hardware and customize the software for their use. How much more AV will be making that migration to a software first solution process? And while it all sounds great on paper, are there further security concerns? We continue the conversation of network and look at the future of AV software.
