We’re in that strange post-Thanksgiving, pre-full on holiday season… Unless you’re our editor and already put lights up in his office. What doesn’t stop for any sort of holiday or seasonal change is the news, and on this particular spot we focus on the commercial side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Director of Systems Solutions for QSC Cory Schaeffer and Midwest Regional Manager for SurgeX Christie Mitchell.

Questex has announced a partnership with the Digital Signage Federation for Digital Signage Expo 2022 happening in Las Vegas. It is one of the many shows that will be taking place in Las Vegas next year, considering CES and InfoComm. The road to this new DSE has been fraught, especially after the cancellation in 2020 following the bankruptcy of Exponation. Is this the chance to bring it all back? What has to happen for this show to be considered a success for the industry?

Next we discuss the importance of having a solid value proposition. After all, it is the promise to your clients and customers that value will be delivered through your product or service. Sometimes it may feel like ruffling your feathers up to look like the best, so how can companies create useful value propositions? Looking at what makes a valuable value proposition document. 

Harman Professional Solutions has partnered with Panopto through AMX to integrate their video management platform for higher education spaces. Even though it could just be Matt’s trademark snark, why hasn’t this happened earlier? Are we as integrators and manufacturers caught up in some sort of Rube Goldberg complexity addiction, especially in higher education? Can we make it simple? Looking at what this partnership means for higher ed moving forward.
