AVWeek 587: Heavy Hitters

Reach Out And Touch AV

Before you stuff your plate with various cooked goods, why not instead chow down on the latest news coming out of the commercial side of the AV industry? We are joined by Digital Workplace Consultant for Accenture Sharath Abraham, Business Development Manager for QSC Charmaine Torruella and Market Development Manager for Starin Marketing Chris Neto.

The results for AVIXA’s 2023 Board of Directors are in, as well as additions to the Leadership Search Committee. Two of the new board members, Nyere Hollingsworth and Bren Walker have been regulars on this very show! We want to congratulate them as well as Brad Sousa and Dorothy Di Stefano, and also discuss what this means for the organization moving forward.

We take the time to look at Amazon Web Services’ Shared Responsibility Model. Sharath has been studying for a certification for AWS, and found this part to be particularly interesting, especially for the AV industry. As the name would imply, it breaks down where responsibility lies between the service and the customer. Can we use this kind of model to draw a line between the different parts of AV and where responsibility lies in a project?
