Manufacture Crisis

Rather than try to brave nature like Joe, why not just stay in and read about the latest news surrounding the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Founder of Thoughtful Integrations Joe Whitaker and LiveWire CEO Henry Clifford as we look at what’s going on in AV.

Ring has added End-to-End Encryption to their solutions as a worldwide feature. While some say it’s a win against hackers, some might be wondering just what too so long to get to this point. Although their video game side seems to be dodging any and all trade shows events for their sector, Sony’s AV division is hosting their own virtual event next week, July 27-28. It will be highlighting their portfolio of products including LCD displays, remote cameras, projectors and more. We as an industry are now no stranger to virtual events. If anything, there’s now a glut that most of them meld together. Even though we’re starting to get back into the swing of in-person trade shows, will these virtual events continue? Would they have the same impact? Looking at the event space and what integrators should be focused on.

Speaking of events, CEDIA Expo 2021 is happening at the very start of September at the Indiana Convention Center. They’ve just announced an expanded influencer network of many different people within the AV industry. This includes some of our own show guests like Amanda Wildman, Jeremy Glowacki, Heather Sidorowicz and more. There’s also some oddities not quite in the residential space like Starin’s Chris Neto and some unknown named Tim Albright. Sure, we’d like to be the old man on the lawn but influencers can have an impact on outreach. Could it even branch out of the AV industry into adjacent verticals? Looking at the power of influence and what it could mean for CEDIA Expo 2021.
