Invest, Not Exploit
Even though CEDIA Expo is tomorrow in Dallas, we still have a wealth of news and information coming out of the residential side. Joining us this week is Principal for Fregosa Design Rich Fregosa and Owner of KMB Communications Katye McGregor-Bennett.
As previously stated, this is the week of CEDIA Expo 2022. One of the great events that will be going on will in fact be the AV Yoga group having their first in-person meeting on Saturday, October 1st. Katye was actually the founder of the group, so we ask her how it all started in the midst of the pandemic and the value of unplugging to connect.
This is going to be the residential side’s first big return to the physical space since 2019. Although not as packed as previous years, we have seen successful returns from commercial shows like Integrated Systems Europe and InfoComm. What will it take for CEDIA Expo to be considered a success?
Labor shortages are becoming a factor well outside of the AV space. Whether it’s quiet quitting, the great resignation or many other buzzwords, there is a major shift within the mindset of sufficient value in a job. What can a manufacturer or integrator do with the lack of work? Is there a way to make the AV industry attractive to the next generation to make this a great place to have a career?
