Let’s Talk About It

You don’t have to worry about where in the world is Matt Scott, because Tim is here to take over. We are looking at the latest news and information surrounding the residential side of the AV industry along with a panel of experts. Joining us this week is Manager of Software Development for BlackWire Designs Seth Johnson, Chief Operating Officer for Josh.ai Scotty Allen and Owner of TruMedia Home Amanda Wildman.

We reported previously that Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa is costing the company billions of dollars. And after more reports of cutting about 18,000 employees, there should be some concern for the smart home space. We discuss the outlook for smart homes for the coming year and what integrators need to be looking out for.

Apropos of the last story, we discuss what’s next for voice assistants. It’s only fitting then that we have someone from Josh.ai to discuss it! Should we expect things like artificial intelligence systems to come into play? How voice control is evolving within the smart home space.
