ResiWeek 413: I Want That!

The Shiniest Things

It wasn’t our editor’s New Year’s resolution to do more on-camera work, but we’re gonna make him do it anyways. Because whether or not that Canadian is present, we are here to bring you the latest news and stories for the residential space. And joining our hapless host are some industry experts, starting with Joe Whitaker from Origin Acoustics and Patrick Norton from CTI.

CES 2024 is here! While InfoComm will also be the spot in Vegas to see some innovative technology, this is focused on the consumer side of electronics. Thus the name. We discuss some of the more interesting news already coming from the show, and why integrators should be paying attention to shows like it.

It hasn’t changed much from last year, the top three spots still being “Goodnight”, “turn on/off TV”, and “turn on/off lights”. The new additions are “I’m Home” and “Goodbye”, implying that certain routines and macros are being utilized more often. We look at what this information means for integrators, and what might be missing for voice control in the options that we don’t hear.
