Connecting The Smart Home
Between CES 2024 and the upcoming ISE 2024, we have a lot on our plates! We are here to bring you the biggest stories for the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us to discuss the news is Seth Johnson from Blackwire Designs and Victoria Garcia Massimo from Airzone.
As previously mentioned, CES 2024 was last week in Las Vegas, showcasing a whole host of amazing technology. Tim Albright and Patrick Norton (who was on last week’s show also talking about CES) were in attendance, as well as Samsung who is promising “AI for All” through their solutions at a press conference. We are seeing AI become less of a buzzword and more of a practical tool. What does this mean for integrators?
Airzone is making it easier to integrate their HVAC units with Google Nest thermostats. The Aidoo Pro acts as a conduit between the HVAC system and the home control solutions to work more efficiently in the home. Since we have someone from Airzone on the show, it’s only right that we talk about what interoperability like this can do for the smart home space.
LG also had some impressive OLED displays at CES 2024, including a transparent screen. Their proprietary META Technology produces a high level of brightness for any existing OLED panel. While it is novel, do we see transparent LEDs like this having a market space in the home?
