syscomtec Distribution AG Launching Icron's USB 3-2-1 Raven™ Extender Series at ISE 2018

Live demonstration of the world’s first and only backward compatible USB 3.1 extender system over single CAT 6a cable up to 100m and up to 200m over multimode fiber at ISE stand 8-K270 from February 6-9th at the RAI Amsterdam

Burnaby, British Columbia – January 23, 2018 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, announced today that syscomtec Distribution AG, specialists in visualization technologies, signal management and control in the field of professional audio-visual media, will mark the official launch of Icron’s USB 3-2-1 Raven™ extender series through a live demonstration during the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2018 show at the RAI Amsterdam in the Netherlands, February 6th through 9th.
The USB 3-2-1 Raven 3104 is the world’s first and only backward compatible USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) extender system for up to 100m over a single CAT 6a/7 cable, making it ideal for USB 3.1 web conference cameras as well as any other USB 3.1, 2.0 or 1.1 application, while the USB 3-2-1 Raven 3124 provides up to 200m extension over OM3 fiber with additional isolation suitable for medical and secure environments.
Both FCC/CE certified Raven extender models include an Ethernet side channel for LAN pass-through and incorporate the ExtremeUSB-C™ suite of features such as transparent USB extension supporting USB 3, 2 and 1, true plug and play (no software drivers required) and compatibility with all major operating systems: Windows®, macOS™, Linux® and Chrome OS™.
“We are excited to make both USB 3-2-1 Raven models available to the Austrian, German and Swiss markets,” said Claus Lohse, Member of Board at syscomtec. “There is pent up demand from integrators and camera manufacturers for a reliable USB 3.1 extension solution for conference cameras that simultaneously extends other peripherals such as USB flash drives, touchscreens, keyboards and mice – especially over category cable.”
“Whether new builds or retro fits, meeting rooms are being equipped with USB 3.1 web conferencing cameras to take advantage of high bandwidths and resolutions,” said Glenn Antonelli, Vice President of Marketing at Icron. “Until now, there hasn’t been a reliable extension solution to support USB 3.1 as well as USB 2.0/1.1 at the same time over a single CAT 6a cable, which will solve a lot of installation challenges.”
ISE attendees are encouraged to stop by syscomtec’s show stand 8-K270 to view both Raven extender models in action, from February 6th through 9th at the Amsterdam RAI.
