SurgeX promotes, hires, and expands commercial AV team
Knightdale, NC – AMETEK Electronic Systems Protection (ESP), a leader in advanced power protection, diagnostic intelligence, remote monitoring, and cloud solutions, is making strategic moves in response to growing opportunities within the commercial AV market including new product solutions, education tactics, and an expanded sales team.
In alignment with its expanded product line, including the recently introduced global Defender Series and Large Format UPS solutions, SurgeX has grown its internal team and expanded resources available to its dealers complete with a strong education initiative and wide variety of training methods, in addition to an updated website that features easier navigation and improved functionality throughout.
Leading the Sales team is a former sales manager and long term SurgeX employee, Rick Komendera, who has been promoted to director of sales. One of Komendera’s main initiatives is providing more trainings and educational resources directly to dealers. “There is a lot of misinformation in the industry and our goal this year is to become the go-to thought leader on all things power and really take the time to dive in and educate the market and our dealers on demystifying power into palatable and useful takeaways, especially as we are seeing opportunities in the commercial market arise,” said Komendera.
Komendera now leads a team that has tripled in size including Scott Saltzman, an accomplished sales professional and SurgeX employee of 14 years, recently promoted to major account manager. Scott continues to work hard to foster new partnerships that have grown into multi-million-dollar accounts across the different vertical markets SurgeX serves.
Cherian Jose, now consultant liaison, previously managed several departments for AMETEK Powervar over his 26 years with the company, including engineering, document control, compliance engineering, service, and sales engineering. In his current role with SurgeX, Jose works with AV Consultants to develop business in new verticals and underperforming markets. He brings extensive knowledge and experience with AC power systems in both single-phase and three-phase, and is also well versed in inverter topology, power quality, and power distribution systems.
Previously an independent consulting engineer for SurgeX, Vince Luciani has recently been onboarded as senior sales engineer. Luciani’s experience is vast, including playing a crucial part in creating the HDMI Cable testing protocol for DPL Laboratories. Luciani adds tremendous value to the SurgeX team as the primary resource between product development and sales.
Five U.S. regional sales managers have also been added to the SurgeX sales team to support customers with commercial projects including: John Palaszynski, regional sales manager, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic; Mike Morton, regional sales manager, Southeast and Midwest; Christie Mitchell, regional sales manager, Central; David Sansenbach, regional sales manager, Southwest and Central; and Julia Shams, regional sales manager, Northwest.
“With our newly expanded sales team, we’ve gone from a team of three to a team of ten. We are stronger than ever and now able to reach every corner of the market across North America and overseas,” said Komendera. “With a strong product line of solutions for all installation sizes paired with our strong education initiative, I look forward to strengthening the power message worldwide and continuing to build lasting relationships in the Commercial AV space.”
