ProSouce gets lighting design help from David Warfel

Exclusive Warfel lighting designs for ProSource members

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — ProSource, the largest audio, video, and integration buying group in the United States, announced today an exclusive agreement with lighting designer, educator, and author David Warfel to help steer the lighting initiative providing expert advice and education to ProSource members.

“Light is a fundamental component of the human experience that requires increased technical knowledge and advanced digital integration. No one is better placed to master the convergence of light and technology than ProSource members, and I am thrilled to be a part of this critical initiative,” said Warfel.

Formerly the chair of the lighting design program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Warfel teaches regular continuing education seminars in lighting design that offer immersive training experiences. He is a vetted facilitator for the Illuminating Engineering Society and serves on the Educational Material Review committee. He is also highly regarded as a registered continuing education provider for the American Institute of Architects.

“Bringing David on board as an exclusive advisor for the ProSource membership underscores our commitment to the number one growth category for our organization,” said Dave Workman, CEO and President of ProSource. “Working with the Lighting and Shading Committee and our internal category champions, we welcome David’s guidance in the development of ProSource training initiatives and evaluation of product offerings.”

Two category champions, ProSource District Managers Nicole Riddle and Samantha Summerfield, recently passed the American Lighting Association (ALA) Lighting Specialist Certification test that encompasses every aspect of the residential lighting industry, including industry trends, technology, and technical developments. The purpose of their experience is to help members determine who should attend trainings from their organizations.
