cavlo Tradeshow Debuts with Touch-Free Registration Process

LAS VEGAS – cavlo — a trades-only event for members of the professional audio, video and lighting community — will host its inaugural event next Thursday, May 13th at The Orleans Hotel and Casino. In addition to being the first pro a/v/l trade show since January 2020, cavlo is debuting a completely touch-free registration process to help ensure the health and safety of its guests.

Created by Aurora Multimedia, the touch-free registration process uses their Tavis tablet to check attendees’ temperatures while they scan their confirmation QR codes from their phone and answer some questions using only hand gestures. Once that process is complete, the attendee is considered “checked in,” their badge prints and they themselves remove it from the printer – no one else is involved in any part of the process.

“It’s just one aspect of the health and safety measures we’ve put in place, but a really important one that could be easily used for any event or any location where large groups of people need to be checked in quickly and with minimal staff interaction,” said Mike Brown-Cestero, cavlo’s Managing Director. “And, because the Tavis tablet can be programmed to accept any type of confirmation metric or qualifier – including facial recognition, RFID tags and badge swipes – and it also recognizes physical gestures, it is ADA complaint and extremely user-friendly, even if the user doesn’t speak English,” he added.
