Redefining Broadcast Technology: ATEN’s KVM over IP Innovation Powers Virtual Production Leadership at Target3D Studio in London

ATEN International has partnered with Target3D, a leading virtual production studio in London, to enhance its workflows using ATEN’s KVM over IP solution. This advanced system allows Target3D to manage multiple video sources efficiently, enabling real-time virtual media production and motion tracking. By integrating ATEN’s KE8952 4K HDMI KVM over IP Extender and CM1284 4-Port USB 4K HDMI Multi-View Switch, the studio now enjoys centralized control of its render nodes, improving collaboration between teams and streamlining complex production processes.

This KVM over IP solution is designed to meet the fast-paced demands of the broadcasting industry. It offers high-quality 5K video transmission, ultra-fast server switching, and comprehensive visualization tools for enhanced control in live production and post-production environments. With these features, ATEN empowers studios like Target3D to boost creativity, efficiency, and flexibility in their content creation workflows.

ATEN International, a leading provider of KVM and AV/IT connectivity and management solutions, announced today that its KVM over IP solution has been successfully deployed at Target3D, one of London’s premier virtual production and performance capture studios. Featuring multi-view capabilities, the ATEN KVM over IP solution facilitates real-time virtual media production and motion tracking, enhancing the agility of the broadcasting industry by enabling seamless multitasking workflows that integrate live-action production with visual effects.

By implementing ATEN’s KVM over IP solution, Target3D now delivers real-time virtual media production and motion tracking, powering the creation of immersive content for AAA games, music videos, advertisements, and more. With multi-view capabilities and centralized server management, ATEN’s solution enhances collaboration between directors, operators, and actors, ensuring smooth, responsive operations for cutting-edge virtual production.

Target3D has integrated the ATEN KE8952 4K HDMI Single Display KVM over IP Extender with PoE, connecting render nodes critical for their virtual production workflows. Additionally, the studio leverages the ATEN CM1284 4-Port USB 4K HDMI Multi-View KVMP™ Switch, offering real-time quad-view monitoring and seamless Boundless Switching for managing multiple video sources with ease.

“We decided on a central hub for the render nodes required for virtual production workflows to be connected via KVM-over-IP. We are using the ATEN KE8952 transceivers & receivers from our render nodes, controlling computing and media servers into 1GB Layer 2+ switch meaning each machine is now accessible via network. In our case this now means we can access any computing via patch bays throughout the building.” said Will Jones, Virtual Production and Motion Capture Engineer of Target3D.

Nicholas Lin, Senior Vice President of ATEN, shared, “We are proud to support Target3D in pushing the boundaries of virtual production. Our KVM over IP solutions streamline multi-tasking workflows, offering flexible and advanced 4K dual-display capabilities that ensure versatile server management for scenarios such as multi-display production screens and LED video walls. This empowers studios to achieve new levels of efficiency and creativity, reflecting ATEN’s commitment to transforming broadcasting and media production with agile, innovative solutions tailored to the evolving needs of creative professionals.”
