Leading Luxury Outdoor Lighting Authority Lighthouse Design Studio Enters the CEDIA Channel

Lighthouse Design Studio, a nationally recognized leader in luxury outdoor lighting design, is expanding into the CEDIA channel to help custom integrators tap into high-end outdoor lighting projects. By offering expert design, product sourcing, and installation management, Lighthouse enables integrators to confidently take on larger, more complex projects—driving new revenue and strengthening their client relationships. Unlike generalist firms or product manufacturers, Lighthouse provides a comprehensive, product-agnostic approach, ensuring integrators have the support needed to succeed in this growing market.

To support its entry into the CEDIA space, Lighthouse is actively engaging with integrators through industry events, training sessions, and summits. The company has joined CEDIA as an Industry Related Professional member and is sponsoring key events, including the 2025 Florida and NY/NJ CEDIA Tech + Business Summits. At these events, Executive Director Tim Ryan is leading a session on selling landscape and architectural lighting to AV clients, helping integrators overcome common sales challenges. With over 50,000 installations and 35+ industry awards, Lighthouse brings deep expertise to help integrators expand their offerings and maximize their business potential.

Lighthouse Design Studio, the highly-accomplished and nationally recognized firm specializing in superior high-end outdoor lighting design and services, today announced their expansion into the CEDIA channel. Lighthouse’s proposition is to partner with the custom integrator and provide the direct sales support, detailed system design, product sourcing expertise, and after-sale services — including supervising and/or managing the installation — required for large, complex luxury lighting projects. This all comes together in enabling integrators to confidently pursue bigger and better deals, driving new high-profit opportunities and recurring revenue to own their client’s home experience – inside and out.

“Lighting and outdoor living play an increasingly crucial role in CEDIA projects,” says Paul Fredrickson, Analyst & Business Development Director at Muto Communications, Lighthouse Design Studio’s PR-agency-of-record. “Recent published studies show that 42% of integrators say their outdoor business grew ten points from 2023 to 2024. And for 2025, 75% of integrators expect their outdoor demand will grow between 6% to 25% or more. Yet today only 11% of integrators are successfully including outdoor lighting in their outdoor projects. Many integrators are unable to close deals or expand these projects as they lack the specialized expertise needed to sell, design, and implement large and complex projects.”

Since its formation in 2001, Lighthouse has carried out over 50,000 outdoor lighting installations. Led by Tim Ryan, Executive Director and Principal Lighting Designer, the company is staffed with seasoned landscape and architectural lighting designers, located around the US, each with decades of experience. Lighthouse is recognized in the outdoor lighting field for winning over thirty-five awards from prestigious international professional organizations. As board members and technical advisors for several of the leading outdoor lighting associations, Lighthouse is helping to craft the policies and technical standards for the next generation of outdoor lighting designers. Lighthouse has a catalog of over 15,000 visual assets of design projects and examples of their work, including details about the benefits of working with Lighthouse, which can be seen here: Lighthouse Portfolio & Partner Benefits

“As an independent design firm Lighthouse Design Studio is unique in our approach,” says Ryan. “For the most part, outdoor lighting design in the channel is taking place by generalist design firms who focus on indoor lighting and dabble in outdoor, or lighting hardware manufacturers, whom while having excellent products, limit their design service to their own products. Our thorough and comprehensive process means we go well beyond just design and product specification services. We truly become a partner in the success of each organization we elect to work with by providing complete end-to-end solutions. We collaborate closely with our partners so they can successfully integrate outdoor lighting as a viable profit center for their business and maintain their reputation of excellence with their clientele. And we are product-agnostic – we will integrate any lighting brand the integrator sells insomuch as it appropriately fits the needs of the project.”

Lighthouse recently joined the CEDIA Association as an Industry Related Professional member company and is fully committed to working closely with integrators and their architect, builder, and independent manufacturer sales rep firm partners. Throughout the year Lighthouse will be exhibiting at industry events, hosting in-person and online training, and participating in podcasts. With more than 50,000 outdoor lighting installations under its belt, and a portfolio of over 15,000 visual assets of design projects and examples of their work, Lighthouse has much relevant perspective, educational content, and case studies to share.

Lighthouse kicked off its channel launch as a sponsor of 2025 Florida and NY/NJ CEDIA Tech + Business Summits. There, Ryan is conducting the free 45-minute course: “How to Sell Landscape and Architectural Lighting to Your AV Clients.” With Ryan’s expertise in selling and closing deals on thousands of luxury residential estates, compounds, and commercial properties in the US, CI’ leave this session equipped to overcome sales objections when offering landscape and architectural lighting services to their AV clientele.

Metro New York dealers can attend the free 45-minute session at the April 22 New Jersey and 24 Long Island CEDIA Tech + Business Summits.
The session runs from 10:30 – 11:15 AM each day. An overview and registration of the session can be found here: https://cedia.org/smart-home-professionals/tech-business-summits/new-jersey-new-york/

“We are thrilled to have Tim Ryan and Lighthouse Design Studio attend the CEDIA Tech + Business Summits to offer expertise and advice to help CEDIA integrators start or improve their outdoor lighting business,” said Mitchell Klein, VP of Business Strategy at CEDIA. “With this help, CEDIA integrators can own the entire home experience inside and out.”
